OK have just purchased a Remington 597 22lr and on the safety button you can press it to engage and then turn it with a J shaped key. I did it with a small screw dirver Doh ! and unable to reverse it ! the manual states do not use anything or damage may result. So all help very much appreciated.
Al
I'd go straight to the Remington 597 section on Rimfirecentral.com and ask there. If somebody on there does'nt give you a sensible solution or offer you a key, I'll eat my gunslip!

for starters, hawke aren't really a top brand name, and aren't they all made in china?
i'd be interested to hear otherwise as i've just got off the phone to hawke optics (stowbridge, suffolk) who were as perplexed as i was. The main distributor for hawke in the uk is deben, these are both official uk imports, bought from a gunshop, in the uk,ordered from deben, by my good self. fabpeter, are you just wasting my MFing time here?
Wasting YOUR time??? Not at all! I was actually answering the questioner who asked "Are they real or Chinese copies?"
My implication was that these scopes were as good as many others on the market, because China is the major OEM for many brands, including some of the top names.
I'll keep it shut in future!

As above please if any one or can let me know where to get one from ASAP please.

Umm.....I would try to help if I could, but I'm afraid I dont know what a "trigger key" is or does.
Could one enlighten perhaps?

Theres a nice looking and VERY reasonably priced MARLIN 75C on the trade gun sales of this site! (£85.00 WITH scope!)
Its a tube mag. semi-auto, so very similar to the Model 60. These are known to be very reliable and accurate semis.
If I had a slot going begging I'd have that myself.

Do you mean the specific rifles listed or the 7022 generally?
I know the 7022 and it's strengths and weaknesses.
I think flazz must be giving his opinion of these rifles in general. I find it hard to believe that he is referring to these rifles specifically.
I, of course, have no knowledge of the 7022 in general or of these two rifles. I keep an eye on what is available and when I saw your post it "rang a bell!"
I own a Marlin 795 which has many styling similarities with the 7022. My Marlin runs like a clock (especially on Blazer HV ammo)and is very accurate, but as said, I have no knowledge of the CBC offerings.
I have seen some favourable reports on these little semis and, at the end of the day, you are not making a huge investment.

Snipper thats NICE!!

That would be brilliant ..... Let me know how much you want for it ( and how it will get to me )
Another alternative mate. we use a CO2 fire extinguisher. A CO2 regulator should fit directly.
If you get the pub bottle, check it does'nt have a mixed "beer" gas in there, some do and are not good for gas shielding.
Find a friendly extinguisher engineer and he may provide a "fill up" service on your pub bottle.
I never said any of this, OK?

Are they real or Chinese copies?
Many top brand names dont actually MAKE scopes, but HAVE THEM MADE....................very often in CHINA!!

Gawd, when I saw this advert. I grabbed the car keys before reading it fully!!
I thought "worth the drive" and I'm in Yorkshire!
It is a lovely tiger stripe in that stock though which somebody will snap up!
All the best with it, Peter.

Cheapest HMR in my neck of the woods is at Kirklees Guns, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Yes I've used a LB semi-auto .22LR at the range.....great fun.
Anybody interested in campaigning for the return of ALL pistols including C/F calibres may want to look at e-petition 1469 on the same website.
I'll sign up to that one as well, as soon as I can get on the site. Always seems to be busy..................mmmm...funny that!
Peter.

I know that the chance of getting .22 pistols back on Section 1 is a real longshot, but every signature to this petition is a step nearer to making the point heard.
Please persevere with getting signed on and encourage as many of your associates, both shooters and non-shooters, to do likewise.
I should say, at this point, that I am not the originator of the petition.
Regards to all, Peter.

For anybody who may have an interest or opinion, here is a link to the Government's e-petition site.
This one relates to the restoration of .22 pistols to Section 1.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!
Thanks to all who read this and gave it some thought.
We found a Dealer who ordered these mags and we should have them in 3/4 weeks

Hi fellas, a mate of mine is looking for a spare mag or two for his Savage 93 17HMR.
His first choice would be the 5 shot stainless variety but I'm sure that he would be interested in any version so long as it fits, functions and the price is reasonable.
If you have anything or know where we can get one or two of these, please let me know.
Thanks all, Peter.

Looking at some of the prices being asked for used CZ 17hmr rifles, I'd be tempted to seek out a new one at a "bargain" price.
This link gives you an example......http://www.guntrader.co.uk/mobile/gunDetail.php?NewGunID=090628202936502&skipNo=0&perPage=99999&Filter%5BNewType%5D%5B%5D=Rifle&sortField=poa&sortOrder=asc
There are quite a few of the different CZ 452s available at this sort of price tag.
Just my thoughts on the matter, anyway all the best with it!

I saw this and thought it might be of interest to you. Probably the barrel will be longer than you really want but, at this price, it would be worth modding. These Marlins are pretty accurate and if its a project gun you are looking for, this is a pretty good platform to start with.

Anyway, all the best, Peter.
Update...........saw this also, short barrel but never handled one of these, but anyway........
