Well ive now had the harkilas for almost the whole season.(two more days to go for me), very chuffed with them thus far. Very comfortable, warm and a worthy successor to my aigles.
I've always been an aigle man myself. The reason for this was they had thicker neoprene than the chameaus for a lot less money. The harkilas are quite competitive price wise for a boot with a full length zip. You're looking at the best part of £250 for chameaus these days! The cheapest I saw the full zip harkilas was £159.
I've just bought a pair and they're coming in 10 days or so directly from harkila via sportsman gun center. There seems to be a national shortage of size 10! I'm taking this as a sign that they are good and in demand. I'm replacing my aigle parcours ISO that Iva had for the past 8+ years which are still waterproof but very worn out.
agreed, keep your call birds well fed and watered and you shouldn't have a problem.offer caught birds to others in the area you know to be trapping (bear in mind its illegal to sell call birds) and if they arent needed. kill them.
well my jimny already had a +2" lift when i bought it, so i just wedged some decent tyres under the arches.!
before
After
and as its a soft top, i can just put the back down for shooting from,
goes anywhere a land rover will!
hello, im having trouble cathching a call bird for my larsen trap. does anybody in the wiltshire area have any available that they have caught??
many thanks
Ben
you could try the army surplus stores. you can get a decent pair of gore tex overtrousers for not a lot. i have these in DPM and a similar pair in green and for cold days i have a pair of deerhunter ram trousers which are ace!
jimny would be ace, (i have one) but to get a good one for under £1000 would be hard. my advice is a sportrak or fourtrak(i had a sportrak). cheap as chips and if you stick some decent rubber on them they will get you most places.
Representing the Jimny crew!
mine has +2"lift and insa turbo sahara tyres to keep it turning in the rough stuff! i live one side of salisbury plain and work on the other so it gets used quite a bit as well as being my runaround on shoot days etc...
and heres what i used to have
evening all,
im Ben from wiltshire and have been shooting since i was small. im here to do some networking and information sharing.
