My wife(COPD) & myself(cancer) are classed as "vulnerable". My take the restrictions(& misuse) imposed by Covid,i.e. nearly impossible to see a GP face to face within a reasonable time & delayed/postponed Hospital procedures are as much a threat as Covid.

As above so did I. I did check what categories they thought I was entitled to drive before surrendering old https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Have not used the "quiets" but do use the segmented subs to good effect.Same zero as CCi normal subs and more consistent,in my rifles, than some batches of Eley/Winnies plus they hit hard.

Used one for years(12g),works well with right cleaner.Put in sock through washing machine to clean only when wife is out.

BASC for me,far from perfect in my view but still worth my money.

Mate just read this.. thats hard and i feel for you.. if it were me id' get a pup TBH
Thank you for your compassion, lost her(euthanised)21/05/2019.House and my insides are empty but I have lasted long enough to see her needs properly seen to,can't see that for the lifetime of another dog so no go.

Waiting for mine to expire(GSD@12.5yrs)& dread the loss, don't know how I will cope but at 70 with bladder cancer am not in a position to offer a "good home/life" to a pup.

Signed:Personally I don't want a pistol but think banning pistols was political showboating with no positive impact on public safety.

I hope he has a good sex life: he needs ******

" Hopefully he will be back on here and people will give him a chance to communicate what they are trying to do, at least. "
Hopefully BASC(as an organisation) will display the courage in fighting this that David BASC has shown in posting in the face of criticism.Hrmmmm----------- dream on but respect for David.
As for emailing BASC,unless they are witless they must have gathered(at least through David BASC)the strength of feeling of their members on this issue and ignored it:time to vote with your feet?

Pipe is prone to carbon block up,cost of ignoring may be high: your choice, your punt.

" I have yet to make up my mind about which organisation I’ll be joining at this years renewal, but presently it’s looking like the CA. "

"Poor performance by basc all round, Durham's medical forms 5yrs ago was a clue, the FEO's said at the time it would be compulsory soon, the writing was on the wall. "
Unfortunately I totally agree, although I am presently still a BASC member, in this matter BASC(unless they can now pull a rabbit out of the hat)appear either toothless or pointless.I sincerely hope I am 100% wrong.

A pleasant surprise although "better late than never" was the first thought that sprung to mind.

Sorry my mistake you never mentioned time. I would say that you will not be in any organisation soon as none of them are doing anything. If as we are told it is not in line with home office guidelines what they are doing then a legal challenge would be the way forward. Not just keep rolling out the same tired old lines for not pay.
Unfortunately I have to agree,my membership renewal(or not)is in August so they have until then.

What do you consider to be robustly and timely. After all it has only been going on at one force or another for around five years now.
I DID not say timely: in honesty that option has gone IMHO lost in the option of chasing the"holy grail" of 10yr certs through medical monitoring(personally I would rather believe in Santa Claus). In honesty BASC will have to be extremely plausible in fighting this not to lose my membership/support as I think their support for this mad scheme(GPs/BMA involvement)has helped to create this problem. As I have previously posted, whichever of the associations that fight this the hardest will get my membership/support.
-
Although I am not happy with the situation,as a BASC member I appreciate such things cannot always be easily/quickly sorted.Personally I will(only)be happy if BASC shows it has fought this robustly: whatever the outcome.

I find I can shoot equally badly with either cheap or expensive guns - cheap ones just leave more money to actually go out and shoot.
THIS has been my experience.

If either SACS/CA/NGO etc take a legal case on board & are SEEN to be doing something about it,
I can see their ranks swelling with new membership.
Me too, although I have been a BASC member for years,I will change (or stay if BASC do)to whichever organization challenges this robustly:whether they succeed or not.

Nfu are very expensive but they were no quibble with any claims. They just got on and sorted it, no hint of trying to get out of paying for anything.

Had a Pedretti based 12ga for 20yrs,poor quality gun with **** trigger but silencer part fine.Takes a bit of getting used to sight picture wise but a handy piece of kit.Takes the edge off noise especially with[I use Eley]subs but still nothing like quiet especially if there is something like a stone wall to bounce the noise off but barely noticeable from 100+ yds away. The silenced .410 I had was much quieter and my friend still uses it to control rats/mink on his small campsite. If I used more I think I would go for a 20ga,as an aside silenced gun has less recoil than normal shotgun even with standard carts,
