Is it reasonable to assume the 42 grain bullet protrudes a tad further out the case?

Never compared the two as I had no 40gn left but I have a feeling it may well, however I think the feeding issue in the 581has more to do with the squarer/less tapered shape of the bullet.Possibly tweaking the magazine lips would help but as the gun has no problems with RWS subs(much more accurate)and CCi segs(just as accurate+harder hitting)I have not bothered.A few years ago I either bought Winnies or Eleys and had no probs but now have had issues with both.RWS subs, although I find consistent and accurate, also seem to lack the range and hitting power of the old Winnies so I use them for brain/head shots at short to medium ranges.

  2. I would love to help with some suggestions BUT after 48yrs  of marriage(2 of:1st complete carp,2nd excellent) I have learn't nothing about how women view their men.My best take is they either like you or they don't and whatever you do or don't do has little influence on their opinion.Fortunately I have had more success with dogs.

  3. Presently I am awaiting visit for my FAC/SGC renewal,I am fortunate in that Northumbria seem thorough but sensible/professional but am saddened by the"postcode lottery" that others face.Home Office guidance not being followed by Durham  led to a coroner criticising them re:Atherton, they then introduced a "pilot" need for a medical opinion  http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/news/durham-firearms-licence-applicants-to-pay-for-medical-checks-20584

This to my mind was no more than a mechanism to deflect attention from their failings to adhere to Home Office guidance in the first place, then BASC seemed to pursue the myth that medical monitoring/involvement would lead to the holy grail of 10yr certificates: dream on! The resultant debacle we are now left with needs sorting out forthwith in everyones interest.

  4. In my(for this engine)limited experience, piston is normally the first item to need replacing on this as well as many other competition based motors. Better advice may come from the KTM forum http://www.ktmforum.co.uk/forum.php

    are maybe worth a read.

Personally I would start by using a mechanics stethoscope to check engine.

  5. I use my 12v Snap On timing light with 12v power supply from 7ah lamping battery on 6v 1970 Aermacchi 350 with no issues. Also use lamping battery when timing 1980 Guzzi V50(12v) & 1990 BMW K100RS 16v(12v):its easier than lifting seats etc and struggling to reach battery terminals. If you particularly need/want  a 6v timing light

    are readily available.

Ironically you need to be in a gun club here to own a air pistol, same requirements for a .44 magnum etc.

That is news to me! . Makes as much sense as a chocolate teapot : same(but different)faulted logic/laws as mainland uk I presume. As an aside why has handgun crime rate risen in the uk(mainland)since the ban?

  7. Sadly owing to a lack of talent, I never got much into pistol shooting,I managed OK with a practically recoil less .22 match pistol((why were they included in the ban ???)but could not shoot well with the larger bores. My friends still compete in pistol(air) competitions but its a shame they cannot pursue their sport further.

  8. If it is of any help I believe the thread is UNC & size is 10-24 but please check dimensions as I am far from infallible.

some of the shorter harris bipods used an allen bolt with slot for screwdriver/coin operation.

For some reason the ebay link I posted redirects to"vigilink" but if you look on ebay for 10-24 allen bolt they are available and not dear.

  9. "I heard nothing until about a week ago when my referee said he had received an email from the licensing team checking out the reference."

Peculiar how areas vary: I stood as referee recently for a long time friend's FAC renewal & Northumbria never contacted me by any means. Not that that surprises me as they seem to know where to focus their attentions and probably already knew of our friendship.
