    Hunting, fishing & shooting. I play golf, ride motorcycles, race side cars, teach my daughter to ride & swim. We have a music production company, A publishing company and a company which manufactures and distributes bicycle seats for children. After many years of shooting right handed I have in the last year learnt to shoot lefthanded after being hit by a drunk driver while on the bike. High point of last years shooting was a right and left of woodcock while at home in cornwall while shooting with my father (74). incidentally I bagged the woodcock 300 yards from where i saw my father do exactly the same thing 33 years ago!!!!

    Can anyone offer some advice. I have a FAC Daystate Air Ranger which is great. I currently use a Daystate Airstream mod, which while being light is not massively effective or compact. I remember reading on here some time ago of a gentleman who makes bespoke moderators which have had great reviews. Sadly I cannot find the forum or remember the name. However i do remember his Moderators fitted over the barrel s were not overly long in terms of adding to the total length. Can anyone help or offer an alternative. My current setup is great and Im happy with what I have but if things can be improved I would make the change. Many thanks PS Airranger is running at 40

    Can anyone offer an opinion on barrel length. I am looking for a .17HMR and there seem to be a wide range of barrel lengths available. Anything from 16 to 23 inches. Now I have read lots about the relationship between length and performance but would appreciate the views of anyone on the subject. Obviously there are benefits to there being a shorter barrel but not at the expense of grouping. It will be used with a moderator so 23 + mod would turn out to be a bit of a handful. Any ideas?
