I still have quite a few F16 which are cracking cartridges

I recognise this photo mate 🤣

I made contact with RUAG a while ago to see about getting hold of some more Special 16's and it was a no go at that point, the only 16's they could get hold of were Nobel Sport. Last few Special 16's I bought were from Lovell's in Witney a couple of years ago, but 7's and they only had a few boxes. Probably got half a slab left. They did randomly have some VIP 25 gram 8's in 16g though! If it is oddball and 16g, chances are I have some 😉

RC 16's are just as good to be fair and a damn site easier to get hold of round my way in Essex.

I can assure you they are not modern - my grandfather has been dead since 1995.

    No packing code sorry 👎🏻

It is - sadly I can’t hit anything with it 🤦‍♂️ it’s in my younger brothers cabinet now - he is quite a good shot with a side by side 😎

Cheers Andy, by modern I meant 1980's onwards but the cases look older if that makes sense

Modern head and stamp on those 2 inch but an old looking paper case.... unusual! Is there  a packing code inside the box? I suspect not going by the headstamp. They remind me of the commemorative grand prix paper case that Eley bought out a few year back!

  4. Some cracking old school carp gear there. Basically my set up from the mid 90's! Still got a couple of ST's in the garage although doubt they have been turned on for 15 years. And as for the baitrunners, they don't make them like that anymore! Good luck with the sale, I would snap that up in a heart beat for old times sake if I didn't have a garage full already 🤣

  5. In normal circumstances, I would be all over this, but having 2 16's that have probably been out of my cabinet 5 times in the last year and a shed full of cartridges (last batch courtesy of none other than @Little Chopper I am going to say 'I am out' 🤣 A great deal for sure and great guy to deal with!

For reference, those yellow 16 Grand Prix's are rare as rocking horse and before anyone asks, they are definitely 16's and not 20's!!

Well Mr Rover Coupe you’re clearly a happy chappy. I bought a couple of guns in the auction and put bids in on some of the cartridges I thought I would use. I did not realise the Gamebore and Eleys were only 2” long and would not go through the semi auto. This is what happens when you bid remotely. Also I was not expecting to win a few boxes of oddball cartridges I would not use so what would you do?
I hoped someone else on here could use them so they’re up for sale with other cartridges that I may never use.
Anyway do you see the guns I bought for sale on here? Think you should calm down, take a deep breath and have a think if you have ever bought something and then realised it’s not quite what you want and sold it again? No I’m sure you haven’t!!

Here here! Just recently bought some rare 16 bore cartridges from @Little Chopper and he is an absolute diamond to deal with. More often than not, lots in the auctions are very mixed lots and too Robin's point, you have to pick out what you want from each lot and decide what to do with the rest. Not about making profit as most of what I have sold I have broken even on at best. Glad you got these sold mate and thanks for the yellow 16 bore Grand Prix/Hymax.

  7. Need to thin out what I have so up for grabs I have the following:

    100 Eley Alphamax 32g 3's

    50 Eley Alphamax 32g 4's

    20 Eley Maximum 30g 3mm (2 boxes of 10)

+ 60 loose made up of the above and some Grand Prix 4's & 6's and a few other randoms.

    Edit, 19/11, + 25 Gamebore 26 Steel 4's

    255 in total - £70

25 Anglia Cartridge Co RTO 6's (front opening box in excellent condition and very collectible) £25

250 Eley Grand Prix Bismuth 7's (unopened slab) - £125

I am travelling to Loughborugh from Colchester aera tomorrow so can drop off if anyone is quick enough!

These are definitely from the mid 2000's onwards going by the print on the cartridge. I would say any time between 2006-2012 would be about right

Never ought to revive an old, nay ancient, thread from nearly five Prime Ministers ago! But what ho!

Smooth blue plastic case, low brass, headstamp ELEY-KYNOCH 16. Shot size English #5. Box lid says Gauge 16, Chamber 70mm 2 3/4", Load 32g 1 1/8oz. Back says not to be used guns proofed less than 1 1/8 oz or service pressure less that 3 1/4 tons. Came with some 16 bore Eley Grand Prix from an "old boy" one of which had date Nov. 1975 on inside flap in biro.

Got my fair share of these in the cupboard in various shot sizes along with about 7000 other random 16g cartridges 🙂

I'll add two points. These plastic cases are premium quality and the heads are genuine brass. You will possibly find that serious 16 bore reloaders will pull your arms off for them.

Absolutely! Good luck to anyone who would try and get me to part with these though 😉🤣

I have a load of full boxes of 16g Hymax 4's with what appears to be the same case as these and true brass heads, picked up from a Holts sale 12 years ago.

Also got a load of Maximum 16's in boxes of 10's loaded for a foreign market from the late 60's/early 70's and even a few loose true 65mm case Trainer 9's in 16g also. Not sure if many of these found their way in to the shops back in the UK to be honest as so hard to find. Obviously I don't have any kind of obsession with 16g Eley Cartridges from the years gone by what so ever 🙃
