was out last night for 2 hours before it was dark with the old airgun, had a good time

[canny morning]

had a canny half hour in the morning at the ducks three in the bag and had to leave to go to work, wish i had took a sicky, lol but still i had a great time, cant wait to go again on saturday.

yep i got him from northshields, well my daughter bought him for me, as my last pup past away back in july he was 11 months was gutted so she got me this to take my mind off him.

I had been watching a splash for over a week and have waited for it to shrink in size so I could shoot it without birds being at one end and me 200 m away.

 

First 2 birds came in nice but too low and they were followed by a pack of 6-7 which circled and came in at a good height,dropped a duck with the 3rd shot :unsure: She was hit with the first 2 but only folded at the 3rd shot.

2 minutes later and 6 birds came over my side with a dozen or so too far off for a shot.Missed with the 1st shot and dropped with the 2nd.I then thought that 2 is good and it would be better to let the birds in as it wasn`t even dark yet.

Out I went to pick the birds and 3 deeks and a pair came straight over and saw me and stood on their tails and I dropped the first and left it at that.

Home,cuppa and gun cleaned.
