  1. Have to agree with your second line as the first clearly defines you as within that category.

I'd have thought the original post fairly easy to comprehend? It seem that others managed it?

"Moral of that story is that if you ride/drive like a numpty be careful what the other, legitimate, road users are doing"

So out of curiosity who are the illegitimate road users? If I've read it wrong, and I may have done, then I'm big enough to take it in the chin.

I totally agree with the point about riding up the inside of buses/HGVs/left turning vehicles etc, it's suicidal and something I witness too often.

  2. Watched a programme a while back where a mother was campaigning for lorries to have better mirrors as her daughter had been killed by a lorry turning left that she was cutting up the inside of at the time.

Moral of that story is that if you ride/drive like a numpty be careful what the other, legitimate, road users are doing.

So she wasn't a legitimate road user and deserved to loose her life?

No surprises to see the normal uneducated **** coming out on here.

  3. If they want to stand around watching bikes good luck to them.....what I object to is racing on public roads, closing public roads and the cycle fascists spawned by these bike racers, the ones that think road signs and traffic lights are for someone else....

To be fair I see far more drivers ignoring lights and signs than I do cyclists. There are idiots in all walks of life.

  4. Suppose it's like most things, you get a better feel for it live. I cycled into London to watch it today, got to play with the traffic which was interesting, then sat and relaxed with some mates in a cafe on Embankment. On a plus side they went past 20 times, you have to be pretty hardcore to go along on a normal stage and see them for just a few seconds.

On a side note, we got sworn at on several occasions by drivers sat in stationary traffic as we filtered through, and someone chucked something at my bike. It's an eye opener seeing grown men cry and act so childishly because someone's going quicker than them.

  5. How ever, it should become the law that you can knock cyclists off their bikes if they insist on not using the cycle lane provide by my road tax and think just because they own a road bike, that means they then have the right to ride in the middle of the road

They don't have to use the cycle lane, and it's often not safe to do so. You don't pay 'road tax', therefore you don't have any more rights to the road than the cyclist. They have as much right as you to ride in the middle of the road should they need to.

Don't get me wrong, there are idiots on bikes out there, but there are many more ignornat drivers who think like this and are a danger to cyclists and other road users.
