  1. Finding the right Pipe is easy.Cutting the square threads is not,my Lathe is Huge and ancient. I have ordered another from the States. When I have it,I will try tapping out the Crimp. If it works great,I'll weld two Mags together with a Sleeve and have a Ten Shot.
  2. Thanks for the replies. The Crimp is like a Collet, its even all round and under 2mm thick.I was afraid that hammering somthing through it might buckle the Tube? If I slid the Tube inside a Sleeve,it might prevent this.A bit of head would not go astray except I think it would knacker the bluing. But as the Crimp is under the area covered by the foregrip it wouldn't be so bad.The gun was reblued anyway,so any collectors value is deminished.
  3. Ok,thanks. I got in touch with a Gun Smith in the States who specialises in M97's.He could make me a higher capacity Mag and Spring for not alot of money.I would have to have it reblued but thats not much stress. I guess I could Cut the Crimp out and them weld the two peices together when held in a Jig.I might try that when I have the other Mag.
  4. Hello I recently imported a M1897 Pump Action from the UK,thinking that the restricted Magazine capacity would not be too bad. However after being acustomed to more that two Shots in the Tube,I wish to remove it. I live in Norway,so the gun can hold as many shots as I want without changing its status, however I just want the original capacity. I was thinking about turning up a tube that fitted over the removed magazine, then turning up a Mandral to drive down the inside of the Mag Tube to push the Crimp out? Its either try that or buy another Mag tube from the states.
  5. Pictures from my last visit home. Thats not working,I will check and try again.
  6. 1:Check to see if the Screws holding the Action to the Stock are tight. 2:Check the Mounts. 3:Inspect the Muzzel Crown for damage, sometimes a little nick or Scratch can throw things out. 4:If all that fails, try changing the Scope and sighting it in again. Best of luck
  7. I am very interested in knowing more about the new shot maker mentioned in this artical.I was considering buying a shotmaker from the States, but I'll hold off and see when/if this one comes out.
