Rang my local RFD today as I am after a cheap .410 for vermin control. He has a Webley & Scott .410 bolt action 3 shot ? Apparently 2 cartridges are stored whilst the 3rd is kept in the breech ready for firing. I have never heard of this on this gun before I thought they were all single shot ? Can anybody enlighten me ? He also said that it took a 3" cartridge and that it was quite a rare gun.

I have decided to buy a cheap springer to use for a bit of pest control. After reading good comments on this forum i have decided on a Hatsan 55. I have searched the internet for more info on the rifle but it has left me slightly confussed. I found several reviews on the rifle but some called it a 55 and some 55s. Are these the same rifle or is the S a later model ? I have rang around a few local gun shops and one thinks he has one in stock but he referred to it as a Edgar bros 55, is this the gun I am looking for ? Going by the price he quoted me I think it probably is.

I have a 4yr old Parsons Jack Russell that is fairly well trained in that it will sit, wait, lay down and retrieve. I have been invited to do some beating next season on a small informal shoot. The shoot captain said I was welcome to bring the dog alongand I think that he would really enjoy it. The problem I have is that I dont want the dog to misbehave by running in or doing something that he shouldnt. I thought about taking him but keeping him on the lead just to see what happens. What do you think ? does anybody else use a terrier in the beating line ?
