oh yes! Some good bedtime reading to be had ๐๐ผ

We are going to be joining the Norfolk and Suffolk HPR club amongst over things to socialise and train the dog. My wife grew up in a family who bred collies and showed. I have grown up with retrievers and Spaniels. The GSP we have been interested in for a very long time and after spending some time with a few with have fallen in love with their character and we both know they are challenging but we are definitely committed to training. We will definitely be getting lots of input from professional trainers on a regular basis so hopefully that will keep some direction on both the dog and us ๐๐ผ

Unfortunately not - we only moved up this way during the pandemic. Our shooting took a back step like everyoneโs during this time and work took preference. Both my wife and I are looking to get properly back into shooting this year and hopefully we will find a farm/land where we can train our puppy and take it out with us on a regular basis. Being new to the area doesnโt help with knowing where all the local farms are although Iโm starting to work it out. It wasnโt really appropriate to go knocking on random doors with the pandemic going on. Fingers crossed this year we will find some local land and start enjoying a hobby we love to do, together again!

Thanks for the advice/links ๐๐ผ

Thanks Marsh Man and Oldโun! Iโm definitely interested in trying some wildfowling this year and so is my wife. We both attempted to make contact a year or so ago but due to the pandemic and other restrictions we received no reply. We have both had dogs in the past but not trained them for hunting/picking up etc. We have already visited specific HPR groups and will be attending as many of those sessions as we can. We have plenty of time before we will be looking for places but just trying to get an idea of whatโs about at the moment locally. thanks all ๐

Hi all! I will hopefully be picking up a GSP bitch in May and am looking for some guidance/pointers (excuse the pun), on land or who to approach locally to gain permission to start training her. All being well Iโd love to be picking up for local shoots/Suffolk area in the near future. If anyone knows anyone who would possibly allow me and guide me in the right direction send me a little message ๐๐๐ผ Wetton

What's the furthest you've shot a bunny at?

As stated front on into head or chest. And I've only done it twice... Never if a shot that hits would wound -

130 yards ranged with a finder. No the spot and distance only let down is me shaking on the sticks which 9/10 means I miss. oh and has to be a dead still say and I only go for head shot at that range...never take the shot when side on in case I wound as well. Sensible always -
Or 100 quid. Pm me for number if so!
