I wouldn't waste your money on nobs from what I've heard, there's more talk than offers but others may say I'm wrong. Its taken me ages to find somewhere and I have dog, its only thanks to Beerdore (of PW) and a chancing comment on facebook that I managed to get anywhere at all. A lot of my clients have dogs and shoots and I still couldn't get anywhere. Its more who you than what you know but keep at it something will come along, mix in the right circles - is my tip!! Sunday arvo pint in a village pub and big ears

Looks to good to take out in the field, cant go wrong with a menace bit weighty but good glass
-
Canal used to have a good stock of pike, 3-6lb are common and good fun on light tackle, but I know of larger fish coming out in the Tring'ish area. That was until our Polish friends arrived, probably not a lot left now.

Well aimed shot from shotgun at flying pigeon dead pigeon could you hit it with air rifle,
You aim a rifle - you point a shotgun You cant compare the two in that context, its using the right tools for the right job, both have there place in their own environment
Back to the OP, I'm a little surprised regarding the energy but its the accuracy side of the difference that would interest me most. I would say an air rifle is far more accurate at that range than a shotgun and its accuracy that makes the difference

Nice going, think you're hoping too much for doubles
One thing, get yourself an unhooking mat, nothing worse than fish flapping around on the bank

been using air arms diablo field 4.52 in my tdr, which seem to be ok.
they seem to be well made and of good quality.
only had it a couple of weeks and havent tried anything else in it yet, and only using it for lsr.
use bisley magnums in rapid for bunny bashing though, prefer the heavier pellets for that.
2nd'd - AA fields all day long for my S410 tried jsb's, crossmans, rws superdomes but none so far compare to being consistently accurate, although only just experimenting with bis mags but seem a quality pellet, only trying a heavier pellet out of curiosity

Hi All
Turned up at the permission yesterday and the ole boy was at my van before I even had got me boots on, 'follow me' he said - 2 rabbits in the walled garden!! 'No matter what I do to try and get rid of em' they just look at me and laugh' the ole boy wasnt happy (he's been chasing them, throwing things at them - nout works ), a quick wander with him and one coney sat amongst the veg looking at us, looking at him, from about 10' away - best get the rifle out!! Well within 20mins, both bunnies in the bag! A few hours spent wandering around the rest of the estate and the end result, plus a very happy gardener
Really didn't want so many as I want the perm to last but thought it best to show a good bag after the discussions I had earlier, strange that I've not come across any kits yet - or have I
The coney with his shoulder exposed, fell of the branch I had him on and had been pecked by some cheeky corvid

I'll throw in another question, what's the best ready to fire set up for around the £600 mark?
Benjamin trail .22, any good? This is half the price by the way.
AA S410K or the Classic, £600 will get you a decent second-hand one and the charging gear to go with, plus will have change for pellets.
(its gonna get bashed about so don't go pretty)

I scrabble underneath fat commando style. We had a massive power cut last night, doh! that doesn't mean the battery that runs the electric fences is out. Lesson learnt always treat ALL electric fences as ALWAYS live.
Oh yeah and never take a pee on one :cry1:

As the others have said, all good advice. But if you're missing shots when out in the field but not on the range then I would say your not following the shot through and poking your head up to see if you've downed the bunny before the pellets out of the barrel then you'll 'pull' the shot every time, stay on the target and watch bunny fall through scope

cheers for the replies gents

I have an accountant but I'm losing/lost confidence in him as I've just been giving an 11k tax bill due in Jan. I've had to highlight missing business expenses to him for both this yr and the previous, only submitted 6 months last yr as the business didn't start making money till then. Going through my statement of accounts there is no allowance for my personal tax shown within the workings - hence my op - hope he allowed for it on the previous yr!
I was looking to my accountant for submitting year end accounts, business advice and to reduce my tax bill - so far zero out of 3 isn't a good start.
And to top it all of he's increased his bill by 75% as my books required more work!!!!
-
You can also book £500/£600 office space on your house
He's allowed 400 which I thought was fair. Going by HMRC website the tax allowance is £7475 for last yr, does all of this come of my net profit?

Best thing to do is get an accountant. They easily pay for themselves.

I have one and the erm, accountant, has missed it of and as its my first years accounts I wanted to be sure before I let rip.
Cheers for the replies gents

Once you have the rabbit situation under control you need to tell them that you should be allowed to continue "patrolling" the ground as the rabbits will quite quickly start to bred again. If the gardener knows what he is about he will have no opition but to agree with this line of thinking!
Your permission should be safe as long as you continue doing a good job and respecting the land!
Good luck with it!
Edit: There's always the corvids and the tree rats to think about as well!
Cheers for the tip chap

Place looks lovely, can just imagine being behind that rifle, nice bit of kit

Cheers for the replies gents, its one of my customers grounds - was just there at the right time, the gardener was moaning about the rabbits destroying everything he'd planted the previous day - couldn't resist but to offer my services . Once the coneys are down in numbers I might lose it - gonna take ages
Next session will be with the lamp during the next half term!!

It makes a massive difference when after corvids, reduces glare, anything out of the norm and they're of like a shot. For coneys and pigeons etc. I'm not sure if it makes any difference as movement is the key.
Is beating becoming hard to find?
