  4. Hi guys and girls I need some advice...... unfortunately I seemed to have lost my Shotgun Certificate! Stupid as it sounds and i am normally very hot on keeping it safe! but I have a horrible feeling it has fallen out of my back pocket somewhere whilst out to the shops (was going to buy some cartridges at the time but got delayed and decided not to), tried retracing my steps, and turned the house and car upside down looking for it, ive even phoned up places shops ive been to see if they have had anything handed in......... and nothing!! Going mad trying to look for it! It was a in light brown/tan leather document holder. Now the problem is, how do i report it to the police and the firearms dept, and what is the process? (I live in east dorset) Will it affect my Shotgun Certificate and my future application for a firearms certificate? Any help and advice diven will be very much appreciated All the best

  6. When my FEO came round to check everying was ok, again living with parents. She asked my mum if she was happy with guns in the house... her reply wasn't exsactly encouraging! A bit nervous in the interview but otherwise all went well, only fired a shotgun once a few years before, otherwise she advised to get a few lessons then purchase one.
  7. Blimey, couldn't bring myself to watch this evenings episode............. prefer to watch them thro a scope Still its TV and what ever they'll do to bring the ratings up, laughable at the least
  8. Been working with a keeper recently (work experience placement) all 6 pens are made from 25mm hex mesh wire rabbit netting on the bottom with plastic 50mm black netting on the top, he likes it, works very well, easier to put up and maintain, also the black colour blends in quite well. Fencing staples and hog rings to secure to straining wire , happy days But then its down to own prefernce really.
  9. ok quick update...... Charlie Jacoby of Fieldsportschannel tv is rather out numbered, trying explain and now defend why we "control/manage" foxes. Good Luck to the bloke, is any body else from other shooting orginsations going to be on this program.
  10. Old news I know, but I am unfortunately watching this rather load of c**p on channel 4. But I have to see it to beleive it............... ............ and that is how come people are so full of bulls**t and blinded by their own belief about the fox. Seen and heard what damage they do and as all of you are aware, it just irrates me, alot! Any how rant over..... for now! Hope all is well with everyone.
  11. Hope you guys can shed some light on this matter............. ........... does a certain amount of change in addresses affect my near future Firearms Certificate application. I have due to personal circumstances, moved back in with my parents just changed my address on my sect 2 Shotgun certificate, awaiting confirmation. Now the real dilema is, my parents are thinking of moving and quite possible to. Was hoping to apply for my F.A.C. summer this year and I would of moved address 5 times in the past 2 years. Is my future FAC in jeopardy!! Cheers all
  12. Location 1- the small wood is the best bet but hate to say but doggin in may be needed, alot, especially if we have another season like the last with mild weather. Any chance you can locate the pen with half of the wood and the remainder in a neighbouring field (furthest away from boundary) this might help but will depend on your circumstances with land owners/farmers.
  13. Nice looking vehicle, and a diesel a tad cheaper to run! Engines are straight 6 bmw engines, not to bad either. But be warned a nightmare to work on and parts seem expensive as well even for Land Rover. They have low range but not sure about diff lock, it'll be similar like discovery 2's. But no seperate lever like old disco's/defenders/range rover classics.
  14. Keeper im helping out invited me to a roost shoot this afternoon, not a huge amount of pigeon around due to the terrain and more pasture than arable land, but keeper wanted bag some and keep them moving about and just to have couple of hours out in a glorious afternoon with gun and a bag a few woodies or a few vermin ............ ........... however, I never had a single one in fact nothing at all, had a dozen pigeon, crows, a magpie and a few squirrels all in range and I couldn't hit a thing today!! Tough it made the keeper giggle, i do Feel very ****** off with my performance, seem to be getting from bad to worse at the moment . Think I shall book myself a lesson with an intructor, see if my gun mount, swing or anything else with shooting technique is to pot! Anyhow rant and moan over, does anyone else also have this similar experience. Cheers
  15. Nice one cheers guys, really appreciate your views. Been looking and doing some research and alan rhone ltd sell a brand called BAUER, do a nice pair of 8x42, Also looked at uttings and seen a pair nikons, bushnell and hawke. There seems to be such a range even around the £100 mark, though im really looking for rubber coated, fog proof, water proof pair and ideally ones that come with a decent neck strap.
