  1. It is indeed a moneypit, i started of looking at £300 s/h guns when i first applied and as the motnhs have gone buy and reading and lookign im upto £1000ish budget, its endless lol.
  2. hi ive finally got my certicate through the other day so i can now buy my first gun, i have been and looked at two but im undecided, the shop owner was very helpful and wasnt bias towards the most expensive at all he just said both are great guns its down to your budget/preference. Both are brand new and come with the case and chokes and warranty as you would expect, Lanber sporting deluxe £780 Silver pidgeon sport £1200 Obviosuly theres a fair price difference and alot of people will say that beretta is the better gun, but as its my first gun my thinking was get the cheaper option. But then other people i have spoken to say get the beretta its a much better gun, will hold its value and i wont need to upgrade. But i dont want to buy a beretta just because its a beretta and if the lanber was a good gun why would i need to upgrade? This is my thinking, just wondered what others thought?
  3. Well after having along time to think about it and read up, i dont think im going to spend a 1000. Like many say i dont wanna be in the "all gear no idea" club lol
  4. after applying in january I came home from work today to see my shotgun license has finally come! So at long last i can finally go and buy a shotgun!!
  5. maybe a stupid question but what is the difference between a lanber sport and a lanber sporting deluxe?
  6. Hi, yea I had my house visit about a month ago and I rand them on Monday askin where it is and they said they still havent got round to doing grants there doing renewals. But should be within a couple of week. They like to take there time lol
  7. He has plenty of second hand ones in so il look at more than just those 3 anyway, there just what i liked the look of. That way people don't think you've borrowed your missus gun......i dont get it? lol
  8. Hi, the lanber is about £800 and the other two are about £900 all from the same dealer. The browning and beretta are second hand but 2011 or 2010 models cant remember which one and are like new he says and come with the case. Bit expensive for a first gun probably but ive bin saving since i applied for my licence on and off now, which was 7 months ago so ive got more than i originally intended to spend saved up as i was told it usually takes 6 weeks lol.
  9. hi, im about to buy my first shotgun ive fount 3 i like the look of just wondered what peoples thought were? They are all around the same sort of price range so the price isnt a issue, they are: Lanber sporting deluxe - brand new Beretta silver pidgeon s - second hand Browning b525 sporting - second hand Im going to go into the shop and have a feel for fit (when the certificate finally gets here) which will probably make the decision for me, but just wondered what peoples thoughts where? Good guns, avoid or look at something else? thanks
  10. no, nowhere at all yet, waiting for the certificate so i can go get a gun.
  11. change that, thinking of buying a second hand one, seen one for £480 like new, two years old. Just waiting for my license to turn up. Such a annoying waiting game, i had the house visit about 4 weeks ago and he said it was all fine etc...how long does it usually take to receive your license after the house call? I dont really want to ring up asking about it, they dont seem to pleased when you ring asking. But i applied in january.
  12. Im tempted at buyin a brand new lanber sporter deluxe, its about £750. Good guns? keep away? or better guns around that price? thanks
  13. hi, i live in sutton on sea to the person who asked what area. As to gun trader, for my first gun id rather go to a good shop so they can help me as i dont really know what im looking for, as in fit etc (probably sounds daft) What is cla game fair? thanks alot
  14. Hi all, sorry if this isn't supposed to be posted here but new to the site so not sure what's what yet. Ive finally had my house visit about my license so i should soon have it and be ready to buy my 1st shotgun. Just wanted to know if anybody from this area could recommend a good shop to go? Im going to go look in derek lees as he has a good selection and i got my air riffle from there but i dont really know of any other shops around here. Also does anybody know of anybody who does lessons around alford area, i know theres whitelodge but thats a little far, or even somebody thats willing to let me go somehwere with them and just give some simple lessons. I have upto £1000 to spend on a gun (ideally id like to spend less of course) any suggestions as to what i could get in that sort of price rang, new or s/h. thanks alot
