    What 4x4

Hi, Ive had a few 4x4's and driven a few more. Discos are very capable motors on and off road the 300 tdi is best engine wise a real workhorse. the only problem is they should come with a welder in the toolkit. They rot like an early 80's jap car no matter how well they have been looked after they are full of rust traps. if you dod get one of these check everywhere for rust as they can look great from the top and be complete dogs underneath. Diahatsu's are rot boxes to and again check everywhere, electrics are iffy aswell. Engine does pull like a train, the 2.8 diesel that is. Mitsi's if you go down this route id say go down the route of a mk2 pajero over a uk spec shogun. As a pajero and shogun of the same age the chances are that the pajero will be in better condition alot less rot and less miles. Ignore anyone who says parts are dear as there no different to l/r. My disco fell to bits and that was a 98 300 tdi es with 150,000 on the clock i got fed up with welding it. My current paj is a 93 lwb exceed 93,000 on the clock, no rus,t eveything works and i know no matter what i can go to it and it will start. I use it all over my shoot in wales for feeding, fully loaded never got stuck with it yet. there a good soild all rounder.
  4. Hiya mate, i dont have starter pistol but what i use is a cheap childs cap gun. The one i have is loud if your struggling to find a pistol why dont you buy one and give it ago. Dave
  5. Hi mate, just putting a fresh view on things here. Ive had working labs all my life tried an ess, not my cup of tea. I got given a spanador pup (lab x ess) and i must admit he's exceeded all my expectations. As like most people i wasnt overly keen on a cross. Wid is 3 yrs old now and well into his stride theres nowt that phases him. He hunts like a spaniel when im game shooting, he can track a pricked pheasant down no matter how far its run and hes just at home on the forshaw shooting ducks and geese, 100 mtr retreives no problem for him and hes just as at home sitting in a hide, though he does get a little bored and go for a wander every now and agian, but hey they all do. As for stamina he never stops lol. My only problems with him is hes slow maturing and can get a bit over enthusiastic at times. He's as big as a lab with the get up and go of a spaniel. He's also kept indoors as a pet, no probs on that front either. Anyways thats just my point of view mate. Dave
  6. Hiya mate Sorry to say this but nobody has noticed that your gun is to heavily choked to shoot steel cases as the maximum choke for steel is half. If you were to have the choke altered you could shoot any standard 32grm 2 3/4 case without problems. I used to push them through an aya sbs 2 3/4 gun, cylinder and quarter chokes. Dave
