Hi shotgun jimmy, non toxic shot for start . Doesn't matter o/u or semi auto which ever u get on with better, although sometimes nice to have that extra shot on the geese. make sure the gun fits u properly what ever u decide. Good luck

Sometimes Geese won't move when to much fog . Fingers crossed
