Hi
Ive always wanted to experience lamping. I dont hold an FAC and never shot foxes or other quarry taken by rifle and lamp, so I wouldnt expect for anyone to let me shoot on there permissions. I was just hopeing that someone local to me might be willing to allow me to accompany them on a shoot so I can experience what Its like. obvisously I would be more than willing to help in any way I could i.e hold lamp, drive and open gates etc.
As Ive said before I wouldnt be expecting for anyone to let me shoot, just to experience lamping.
Cheers

Well Zeus first rape field was a disaster! Set up by 8am only for a parade of lorries to drop muck off! Plus point it kept the birds off. Moved to another field across the road and bagged 32 woodies 3 crows and a magpie! Blessing in disguise hey. Went for a look today and found a load on some recently cut maize so looks promising for next week. Let me know if you still want to go out it would be no worries.
Sorry Mr pigeon....I have only just spotted your reply!!! sounds like you had a good day in the end! Im getting a few offers and still working on gaining my own permissions.

Ive got a few lengths of Hazel and Holly hanging in my shed now, Luckily my father got hold of a seasoned length of Hazel from a friend of his and whittled it down into a nice thumb stick, which he gave to me as a Christmas present.....looks the busines!

I did see this yesterday, and wondered if it was an Internet viral......It does look so realistic though! Good effort from the students.

At least you got something for your 25 bucks then lol!

No worries fella. Out tomorrow all being well on the tricky rape, you never quite know?!? Just started to rain now:-(
How did you get on mate?

Cheers.....there in the shed tied in a budle and hanging from the frame.....I wont even bother asking the Mrs about the airing cupboard!
Having had a look at them again, they are more suited to being used as beating sticks. Im on the look out for something more like a thumb stick.

I hope to never be in a posistion where I need to use an insurace policy for a shooting/fieldsports related incident. It is reassuring to know orgainsations are providing a voice for us along with there represenatives providing valuable information on forums such as this.

Hi Zeus there are a few lads that live out rock way. Get yourself up to the rock tavern have a drink or two and let it be known your into shooting they'll soon be chatting to you and you never know where it will lead. Worth a go and beers not bad friendly folk too.
Cheers Mate......not far from there at all
