My Father in law is a car dealer. Used prices for general cars are falling. If you want a 4x4 wait until spring. If you want a soft top buy in winter!
-
Hmm. thanks for that MC.
/S/
It wouldnt work at all. A while back when I was younger and more stupid a mate and me cut the shot out of a cartridge then tried to just shoot out the wad. The result was a wad lodged in the barrel and a load of unburned powder up the barrel.
The crimp and weight of shot hold the load together just long enough to allow pressure to build allowing the powder to burn. Less shot = less pressure = less powder burning.

can you shoot ghosts legal ? wat cal wood you use that wood be a good photo for face book
Reckon you would need something heavy as Ive heard theyre hard to kill! Having said that I have heard your shot passes through quite easy!

My auntie used to be a dinner lady there when it was a school for the blind! Used to go and visit her regularly. Apparently there is a ghost of a grey lady wandering across one of the lakes!!!

simple answer is not to miss. one shot one kill and all that..............
They still ricochet after passing through a rabbit!

I have got some dirty critter on the laptop that is stopping me from running Malware Bytes and from updating the Microsoft Security Essentials program. It is also redirecting certain google and yahoo searches.
I have switched on and off like we all do.
I have defragged the hard drive
I have run C Cleaner
I have run a full antivirus scan
What can I do next ?
Have you tried punching it? Rarely helps but makes you feel better.

How far would a .22 sub sonic ricochet actually go? Im thinking not that far seeing as it will already have lost a fair bit of velocity and the round itself will no doubt be deformed and flying eratically. Has anyone any experience of the distance they travel? Im thinking less than 300-400 yards.

I can only find one 28gram no 6.5 in fibre wad, Hull Sovereign Fibre. Has anyone used this on pheasants or partridge?
-
What does it actually say on the cartridge? Could your dad have had a tidy up and put some loose cartridges into a random box? I know I opened a box of high pheasant last week to find it was full of bismuth! My fault not Hull Cartridge!

I used to work in a gunshop on a saturday when I was in Sixth form about 12 years ago. The guy had about £10,000 worth of cartridges and ammo in stock at any one time and about £70,000 of guns, optics, clothing and equipment in stock. All had to be paid for. It would take a LOT of capital to stock a new gunshop well.

Anyone have any advice on how to reduce 22LR ricochets on a dry field?
Thanks
Jon
I think the only way to stop a .22LR bouncing about is not to shoot it.
I used to do a lot of lamping for rabbits with one up in Scotland. We had them zipp of everything from wet grass fields, plough and stubble.

Even if you own a shoot you still dont make much. A mate is a keeper on a large commercial estate in SW Scotland. They only get returns of about 30% on what they put down and the last 2 seasons have just broke even. They charge £40 a bird driven.

You can not use anything more than half choke. I used to use Skeet chokes as steel patterns very tight due to very little pellet deformation. With 32 gram no.4 RC steel cartridges I used to be able to kill Mallard reliably at 40 yards.
Now I have a sxs and have to use bismuth  At £1 a shot!

I have been using a Miroku 28 bore for a while now, cartridges are more expensive, but still less than £50 per 350
Unless you use 28 gram loads, they tend to run about £7 per 25, but they are very effective out to sensible 12 bore range.
Unfortunately due to various health reason I have not used it for a while, and it doesn't look like I will ever be able to use a shotgun properly again
Neil.
PS: If you name was just fortune on another site you made an offer to buy it a couple of years back, I said no at the time, probably would now.
Sorry to hear you cant shoot any more. No it wanst me on another site!

Thanks for the tips. Most mates have 360 so me thinks Ill be shopping tomorrow!

As per the title whats the pros and cons of each?
As the nights draw in I feel a must have purchase looming!
It would mainly be shoot em up games and maybe a few racing games.

kexby?
Yes! were you there on the first day?

Deactivating the second gun would ruin it for spares. They plug the barrels, take the firing mechanism out and then drill the breech face.

Get on to the John Norris website. Bought a Seeland jacket last summer, excellent through last winter.

Ive been toying with the idea of getting a 28 bore.
Do any of you guys use one for general game shooting and pigeon shooting?
What is the sort of price you pay for cartridges and does it really have the same sort of range as a 12 bore?
Also what brand and weight of cartridges do you use?
Thanks

This will be the reason I aint shooting Partridge this weekend as the horses and following convoy have put the birds off our shoot.
I heard they belonged to an old guy that died recently.

A gun maker? Unless it is a really expensive gun or of real sentimental value it probably wont be worth it financially.
Deserve prosecution?
