If you are in North Norfolk what about Holts? They always have some in their sealed bid auctions
  3. Been checking the maps and I reckon Holy Island is going to a bit to far a trek. Think best options are looking like Hartlepool and the Humber.
  4. Thanks for the advice. Will be firing out some emails tonight. Cheers Charlie
  5. Thanks for the heads up, at least it narrows my search!
  6. Figgy, What do you suggest? Would putting a trawl on here be any use or is it going to be a knocking on doors job? Would love to more of that type of stuff but also hugely interested in going onto the foreshore.
  7. Cheers, I have shot plenty of ducks but always on flight ponds and stalking off rivers and drainage ditches. Have always wanted to get into proper wildfowling. Thanks a lot. Charlie
  8. Hi, I am now settling back in the North after moving around the country with work for the last 20 years. I have shot all my life but never done what I would call 'proper' wildfowling and really want to get involved. Are there any Hartlepool Wildfowlers out there who could get in contact? I live near Thirsk in North Yorkshire and have checked out the club facebook page which only makes me want to get involved more. Cheers Charlie
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Will see if I can get in touch with the Hartlepool club. Cheers Charlie
  10. I have now been through the BASC wildfowling booklet, there are several clubs within about an hour's drive of where we are. Does anyone have any recommendations? Do the clubs offer mentoring or something similar? Pretty sure it's not the environment to learn the hard way! Cheers Charlie
  11. Is not having a gundog going to be an issue joining a club? My boxers ears will be burning, however he would be the first to agree that he is neither steady or willing to go in water past his belly!
  12. Cheers DM. I'm guessing we are from a similar era?
  13. Lee, Thanks for the reply. I live near Thirsk and yes would love to get out on the foreshore, never done it and always wanted to. My shooting background has always been inland, rough shooting and syndicate shoots. Wanted to do some proper wildfowling for ages and finally decided to get stuck in. Charlie
  14. Don't want to sound like I'm following the crowd but sounds great
  15. Hi, New to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. Although I have shot for the last 25 years, I have as yet to get out onto the foreshore. My experience of wildfowling has been flight ponds and stalking ducks on rivers and big drainage ditches. I started shooting in North Yorkshire with my dad and now after 20 years of moving around the country, I am settling back down in North Yorkshire again. I have always wanted to get involved in some proper wildfowling and looking for some advice on how best to make this happen. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. Cheers Charlie
  16. Hi, Just joined and wanted to say hello. Have been shooting over 25 years and cut my teeth pigeon roost shooting as a nipper. Now looking to get out and about more with my father as I have previously been moving around a lot with work. Thanks for a great site
  17. Hi, New to the site so hello to all and I hope I have posted this in the right place. Currently on the hunt for an English 16 bore and have around £250 to spend. Will be getting used by my boy so a short stock is certainly not a problem! Thanks for looking
