I've just had a total shock, I spoke to my local (DORSET) FLO office to check that they have received my forms, photo's etc which they have so that's great. However when I asked how long it's likely to be I was told 4 to 6 months, not weeks....months!!!!! Apparently they are under staffed!! I was hoping to get some practice in before the game season, at this rate I will be lucky to even have my licence by then!! If I was to take lessons from a clay school will they supply guns etc, unless there is anyone in Dorset that wants to take a 40 year old newbie out for some pigeon practice. I am insured through BASC.

Hi All, I'm Scott from Dorset, I've recently applied for my shot-gun certificate and now my cabinet is securely installed so hopefully my licence shouldn't be too many weeks away!! Anyway I was wondering if there is much shooting in my part of Dorset as I would love to get involved in some game or pest shooting, maybe even a reasonably priced syndicate for 2014/15. All advice and info gratefully received. Thanks in advance Scotty
