I keep hearing that wind turbines are the answer….generating cheap electricity for an untold number of households.
Is anyone a beneficiary of this ‘cheap’ electricity, or know of anyone who is?
All I’m aware of is the consistent rise of electricity.

The pub at the summit of Kirkstone Pass used to run on oil but no one could afford the cost of running the building.

There are now run by, I think three small wind turbines that have made it a viable pub now.

I find as I get older, I cannot cope with the lights of oncoming cars, be they main beam or dipped.  I find this a bit worrying as I do not want to end up in an accidental crash or be the victim of one?  How do others cope with this issue?  I am going to see my Optician and will mention this to him/her to see if there is a simple thing like the yellow lenses that others have said works for them.

Depends how old you are. I had cataracts when I was in my sixties caused by smoking, removed, it made a very big difference to my night vision and bright lights are not a really big problem now.

  3. There has been a lot of snow today in the Lakes today, roads closed everywere, loads of cars abandoned, people walking home, village halls opened throughout the area for people to shelter, not good to be honest.

It will take a couple of days to get back to normal, I hope.

Blimey! Never been offered one, not even when I bought a s/h Perazzi!
Have had loads of coffees at Lakeland Guns, courtesy of Ian, but I’ve spent an even bigger small fortune there! Sadly missed.

I'll try to put in a good word for you but not many get a brew 🤔

If I'm ignored I go and make one myself but they never have sweetners but I keep some in my car.

I always found the blokes in York Guns ( when it was down that little side street in the city itself ) to be very moody and quite indifferent, which I couldn’t understand cos it was an Aladdin’s cave of guns and I’d have been in my element to have such a shop.
However, that didn’t prevent me from spending a small fortune on pistols and revolvers in there over the years, simply because the stock was marvellous!
Nevertheless I was quite chuffed to hear of the younger of the two getting done for shady and illegal dealings of various bits of hardware sometime after moving to new premises off the M6 or wherever it was.
I believe the older bloke had left by then.

I used to go there too, as you say about Aladdin's cave especially if you went upstairs.

And yes they were odd 😀

  6. I posted on another forum and f/book about the improvements at Coniston now that it has James as the new manager.

Shooters who left are now coming back as the attitude has totally changed, the staff are now happy and smiling, layouts are changed at least once a month, there is a new chef now with better food, more choice and made with tasty local produce.

    Totally different atmosphere now.😀

  7. When I had my Rav4 which did not have a spare wheel I carried one of these.

Just plug the hole if that's all that caused the puncture and inflate it with the electric pump.

They worked well on my son's motorbike when he picked up a nail in the tyre, we used three CO2 bulbs to inflate it untill we found a garage.

I think I’ve made my decision. I’m going to buy a new tenere 700 world raid . I had a look and that’s done it 😂. I’ve six months saving yet . Looks like I need to work a few more hours

It's your choice but they have forgotten to put a seat on it 😱

  9. My wife and I were on holiday at Wemyss Bay in 2006. We went on the Waverley up the Loch, it was the first time I had ever seen a submarine in the water.

I enjoyed watching the engine driving the paddles, every time we stopped to pick up more passengers it seemed like a controled crash when we stopped at the piers 😄

I'm sure we had fish and chips on board too.

Since one of these has just sold on here, thought I would give my last Beretta gas semi a go- very clean example, comes with 3 chokes and a slip if required, pick up preferred from Kent poss East Sussex border if easier, or can RFD if needed. Whatsapp pics available, I just can't upload to pc at present. Sale only due to wanting to try  an inertia gun. £425

You might be better off trying an inertia gun before you sell your Beretta, they have a lot more recoil.
