  1. I think the people who are reacting to the tweet/instagram picture have no idea about clay pigeon shooting etc. The media has portrayed guns to be bad recently with the war on terror and current ISIS issue that people only see them as bad.

The guy was just out enjoying himself and having a good time in the safety of experienced gun/clay shooters, whats the problem?

  2. Oh i thought you meant you seen on Ebay that i had bought one lol

Got out of bed this morning as feeling a bit better. Its much easier to read on the big computer screen than a tablet screen.

  3. Hi all,

Im looking for a skeet vest, can be used and any make im not fussy. Im right handed so a right handed vest would be needed.

Looking to spend about £25-£30 all in.

Im a size XL or maybe a 2XL.

  4. Well said mate.

Ultimately only you can make the decision about what to do with the dog, we can only advise. Don't let people put you off what your heart thinks.

Again i think you have done the right thing

    Robbie the rimmer

thats why i have taken the measures i have…. cocker rage , as far as i am led to believe, came from in and over breeding…i know the full history of my dog…i knew the family way before he was even conceived ...

as i also said..when out..he will be muzzled, when at home, if we have people visit..he will be caged….

if you injured an animal instead of killing it out right, whilst shooting, would you give up shooting, there could be a massive chance that you could do it again…same goes with everything in life, you could crash your car..do you give up driving..there could be a child in front of you next time

  5. I hope you get better soon pal.

It's a tough decision but i think id stand by you with this one. If it was me in your position i'd be saying the very same thing, it was partly my fault for being slightly clumsy. Should the dog have reacted the way it did? probably not. I think you've made the right decision in preventing anything like this happening again by making sure the dog is securly locked away when any visitors are around etc.

  6. I totally disagree! pure nonsense!

How do you expect school leavers to hold down a job without being able to travel? We had our first child when i was 20 and had a house, how would i have been able to afford that without being able to travel/commute? Im now almost 26 and have a 24 mile journey to work which would be impossible without the use of a car! Where meant to be encouraging young people into work not preventing them from working by not allowing them access to a car!

How would i have carried my young family around if i had a no passenger rule/law?

25mph would limit you to 40mph roads tops because anything faster would be too dangerous at 25mph and in turn would probably cause more accidents and raise insurance premiums even more!

They are not thieves - you have to insure, they are registered insurers and they have to collect sufficient premiums to pay claims which can run to several millions at a time. They also have to take a share Of uninsured motorists claims - one I was involved with was a Latvian driving a minibus, no licence not even for a car, who killed three and maimed his niece. Estimate when I handed over on retirement was £3m. Don't even start on young lads - virtually uninsurable and if only the government would listen licences should not be granted under 25, they should have a nighttime curfew, they should not be allowed to carry passengers and they should drive cars limited to 25miles per hour!!

  7. It most certainly would and it would give him his just desserts, but would that make us as barbaric as them? That said he certainly doesnt derserve a quick and painless death if it where to come to it.

Problem is the UK goverment want him alive so they can bring him to justice, to then chuck him in a prison where he will live a cushty life playing playstation and served warm meals every day like other prisoners? Ridiculous!

That's not enough for him... a blunt knife used in his own style will be more appropriate....

  8. A good friend of mine had a huge corner tank that was a specialist Malawi tank set up. Exactly as you described, lots of white coral style rock with plenty of nooks and crannies.

Agreed, the best fish you can buy for colour other than marines. Only problem is it's tends to only be the males that carry the bright colours, females tend to be brown and dull, but too many males causes territorial fights!

Yes and you have to be careful what you put in together. Some of the most aggressive cichlids out. They also need a water pH of 8 or higher. Saying that amazing colours, the nearest you will get to Marine colours without going to a marine set up. Best set up is a good rock pile with a lot of caves nooks and crannies. Almost like a live rock set up for marines. Just need to be careful the rocks are OK and don't lower the pH.

  9. Am i correct in thinking with my very little Malawi experience that these fish can be quite distructive by nature? I know they are territorial and that a move around of funishings is always advised so they have to keep finding new territorys to help prevent them bullying other fish.

Someone please correct me if im wrong.

  10. Easier said than done sometimes. Not sure what technology they use nowadays but im sure a country with 169,000 square miles it would be pretty hard to find someone!

Im in the camp of pay the ransom and release the hostage ,then gain info on who and where and then vapourise them.

  11. Im in the No camp to ransom money being paid also. Its a sad fact that the more we give in to these terrorist the more we are loosing the war. Not only does it give them more incentive to kidnap more british nationals it also funds them to become better equiped when it comes to fire power!

  12. Thanks for the advice Mungler. We have a mortgage already so sorted on the house front. Just wanted something i could fall back on and sell if the poo ever hit the fan in years to come. Good thing with a good investment is if i needed to sell up for the money then it could pay out more than it wad bought for.

ill take a look into shares. Ive never looked into them before so its all new to me.

  13. Hi all.

Ive been looking at things to invest in for the long term. I was firstly looking at rare/old coins but there's so many out there that i just don't know what to buy. It seems you also need a lot of knowledge into what you to buy and what not to buy

This lead me on to buying into gold and silver bullion. Has anyone ever had an experience in buying into gold and silver as an investment? Anyone know any reputable dealers? I've searched the net and cant find much and these internet mail order sites seem like scams.

I wouldn't be looking to buy much at the minute but the plan was to buy little every month with spare cash as investments for years to come.

    Can anyone share some experience?

  14. I have a old BSA Lightning XL and the trigger is very light and smooth. Its no fancy 2 stage jobey but is easy to get a feel of. Not sure if its been lightend as i bought it off someone. A friend of mine bought a new chinese air rifle and you litrally had to squeeze as hard as you possibly could to fire it, horrible rifle it was!

  15. Hi Mate.

My local grounds are both Nottingham Gun Club and Cockett Farm. I've only been to Cocketts but they have memebers of staff that will come around with you have release clays for you on your shout. Its great as it means you can go on your own without the owrry of not being able to pull clays.

I'd be up for a day out but may not be for a while as due to money circumstances the shotgun has to stay in the cabinet for a while. Back to air gunning for a bit :(

    Regards

    Matt
