  1. The pluckers that go on a drill are a useless novelty. I tried them on a few pinks last season. Virtually useless. it just takes the top few feathers off. And it doesn't work anywhere besides the breast or the flat of the gooses back. I have had it for 4-5 year. Used it once. Won't be using it again. A bit negative but I hope it helps. Atb
  2. 36g #3 are the only cartridge I use for ducks. And I've had 4 Canada's so far this season with them. All stone dead out to 40-45 yards. I would be confident of a kill every time with them on geese. Just keep the rang sensible. ATB
  3. Interesting, thanks for the reply saddler. A friend will machine the cases for me out of what ever he thinks is most suitable. Most likely brass. All I would need are the primers, wad and cap etc. how do they differ in performance if at all? And how reusable are they? I'm just curious if they will be better than reloading GameBore rhinos ?
  4. Has anyone got experience with using 10 bore all metal cartridges. I know a precision engineering firm who have made them in the past for people. And was thinking about trying them. But are they easy to reload?how do they perform? I have no idea about them at all...so some useful information would be great! More simply put is it a realistic idea and actually viable?
  5. Please ignore this incorrect spelling in title
  6. Interesting info and thanks for the reply. I'm not really one to worry about the choke too much I just shoot everything through 1/2 and haven't had a problem. From Canada's to teal at all ranges. I started this topic because amongst the people I know who are diehard wildfowlers there would appear to be a divide between those who use 3's and swear by them and 4's and swear by them. For ducks that is. We could go all night about what people use for geese. ATB
  7. Sound advice anser2, I've used the 36g #3s for years with no problems at all, they might as well be lead. But I'm curious about what the #4s are capable of. Also are your BB and BBB cartridges steel? I wasn't aware you could choke steel that tight? ATB E. J. D
  8. I will give it a read smokersmith. Have you used 4's ever?
  9. Thanks dawntrdder! glad to see someone's had some success with them. I thought that a bit more shot in the pattern compared to the #3's might be more effective. But I will have to put them to the test soon. Atb
  10. Thanks for the replies chaps, it's nice to read people's opinions and see what works for everyone.
  11. What size steel shot does everyone use for flighting duck on the foreshore. I'm very confident with GameBore mammoth 3'' 36g #3's but I've just bought the same cartridge in #4 to see how they perform. What's everyone's opinions?
  12. I am a member of the keyhaven and lymington wildfowlers and was a member of south Hants. If you would like more info or to get in touch with either club I would be more than happy to give you the relevant information. Although there is a proximity restriction with the keyhaven and lymington wildfowling club which is 10 miles from the St Thomas church in the town centre. Any more info needed just let me know! All the best. E. J. D
