  1. Well I thought I would pop out today and do a bit of ferreting, I did the 1st burrow and only three bolted to be honest I could maybe have done with a couple of extra ferrets as it was so big. I picked the nets up and thought I would go for a wander so I left the bags at the corner of the wood and me and my daughter went for a walk found a couple of smaller warrens we put the ferrets back down and a rabbit bolted it has to be one of the fastest I have seen a rabbit run but not as fast as the shot out of my 12g

great afternoon daughter moaned about being cold at the start

  2. I was on a shoot with three flatcoats and all worked well even went into cover and would retrieve as well as any of the spaniels there was only two labs one would bite you or any other do the other would just do what it liked and not a thing it was told he ended up with a shock coller thing on and I offered to take it off the dog and test it on its handler before he used on the dog needles to say he declined,

I could get a flatcoat from working stock I just don't want one.

  3. great looking pictures, I wonder if most of the negative comments are because its not the normal dog to have ie Lab , Spaniel etc??

like I have previousely said I am not rushing into this AS i have a bit of work todo at home then I will be looking at getting a dog the type of dog will basicly come down to two things a breed we both like and one that can do the job(s) I would like

  4. I think a few of you may change your mind if you are ever on either end of this situation at 24 years old and being in the army since I was 17, I had to say my final farewells to my 2 year old daughter , my wife, my parents, my twin brother, my two sisters and other close family explaining where i would like to be berried. I had been told that I only had around 24 hours left i.e if they didn't find me a heart with in the next 24 hours then that was it for me.

As you can tell due to me typing this I was one of the luckiest people in the world that day although not without its complication. I also carried on serving in the army for a further 7 years

I have done a lot of hard things in my time, however nothing will ever come close as saying goodbye to your child and trying to explain that she will never see me again.

allot of this could be stopped if there wasn't so many people that say I will do it the 6 months down the line still no further in to registering for organ donation.

I understand I might have a different view on this to others. I hope that no-one ever has to go through what I did.

Please also note that organs have to be of a blood match, Tissue match and come from someone roughly the same size as the recipient.

  5. I am maybe a bit biased having received a heart transplant but how many lives will be saved due to people who can not be bothered to opt out?? and once your dead you dont need them any more, I was 24 when I got mine married with one child i am still married but have a 2nd child had i not received a heart my wife would have been a widow and my child in a one parent family

  6. I have read the whole thread that was linked earlier thank you very much I have also contacted Baz,

I know a vizsla is not going to be the perfect hide dog, I do very little hide shooting I just really want a shooting companion, like I said I/we don't want a lab. I mainly rough shoot and am use to a biggish dog as for the boxer in the Hide if I had put the effort in I bet he would of been great. I ciuld tell him to sit and he wouldn't move until I told him to the same with his food I loved my Boxer and I miss him a hell of alot 100_1000.jpg[/img]

if someone knows of any good sites to research the Vizsla a bit that would be great

  7. Hi,

I mainly rough shoot and am looking at doing some Pigeon shooting I know i could get a Lab but there not my cup of tea, the wife is not keen on Spaniels. we both like the look of the Vizsla and I am interested to know how they compare. will it be ok pigeon shooting from a hide? we recently lost our boxer after 13 years and I am going to be fitting a new kitchen this year and we don't intend to get one until this is completed giving me time to research the breed and find the right breeder if you could help in any way I would be very grateful

  8. just a thought i declared everything when i applied for my SGC do i need to declare it all again nothing has changed. all it was is a couple of sp30 that are spent. also I had a heart transplant, i declared all my meds past and present including the antidepressants that you automatically get put on post transplant obviously this was all put on the original application 5 years ago and like I said nothing has changed

Just to be clear i am not on antidepressants all my meds are the same now as they where when I was granted my 1st SGC

  9. Hi all .

just a bit of a review . i brought the diy flocking kit from decoy direct the other day . one kit has enough flock for about 30 shells . tho you'll probably run out of glue by then .Its really easy to use .just make sure you mix the glue together properly , to insure it sets right . It really does take the shine of just normal shells.

    hope this helps :santa:

it says there is enough to do about 12 is this not the case
