Fantastic, nothing cheers me up like a gratuitous puppy photo! Especially love the little chap with nose through bars whilst having his head trodden on, reminds me of the chaos we had puppy rearing
Hope you find good homes for them all!

Many thanks, Plantronics seems to be the brand to go for but they make so many different ones

Hi, I am after either a wireless headset/corded phone/answerphone or a cordless phone/answerphone & corded headset, is there anyone on PW who has experience of either system?
There seem to be a huge range of both available but I know absolutely zilch about them so would appreciate some advice. Budget is up to £150 for the lot.
Thanks in advance
Mike.

Have a friend hide behind a tree/bush etc 20/30 yds ahead, throw dummy past the point your friend is hiding & send the dog, blow stop whistle just as the dog is passing this point & if the dog doesn't immediately stop then friend hurls something soft like a game bag at the dog.
The message to the dog is "I can still get you when you think I am out of range" The important bit of this exercise is that the game bag hits the dog 1st time.
You are right in thinking the dog knows exactly what you want & is trying it on.
Oh and make sure the dog is rewarded when it does obey even if it's just a pat on the head.
I used this technique on my #1 spaniel who is very strong willed to good effect.
Good luck.

+1 for Daisycom, I got them via the FSB, very competitive

Agreed, gas BBQs are the work of Satan, I just got one of these http://shopping.canoe.ca/shop/product--cat...Id_5189345.html from this place in Farnham http://www.thebbqshop.co.uk/index.html It's very solidly made & has adjustable height coal tray, front door for reloading or spreading coals, full depth removable base tray for cleaning, 2 base & 1 lid vents, thermometer in the lid etc etc. Pity it's so bloody freezing cold so it hasn't been used much yet.

Have you checked there is any oil in them at all?

How come the foul mouthed grunge monster overnight (and while selling her story to the press) had a bath, brushed her hair & put on a flowery dress just in time for the BBC camera crew to arrive to film her bruises

Do you know what model it is ie platinum/diamond etc?

+ from me. Had one for several years. All round very capable car, parts prices were awful but I rarely needed anything but service parts.

I used to have a 6v Draper hand lamp, it had a pistol grip & used to last approx 20-30 mins on a full charge but eventually died & I can't find a new one. Can anyone recommend a replacement? it has to be self contained as I use it for walking to/from the pub aswell as shooting.
Thanks.

I did similar, went to a few shops & found a picture I liked. Will a blu ray dvd player still play old dvd's then? This technology stuff leaves me with a headache, I need my 2 yr old to grow up a bit so she can explain what the hell it all means

Several months later we have ordered this http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma...0/pana-txp42x10 but John Lewis matched the price of £499 delivered & chucked in a 5 year warranty. Thanks to all who offered help & Happy New Year

I used to think being forced to watch coronationroadstreeteastemmerdalefarmend was the worst until I had to endure this utter utter poo. The entire cast & crew should be left there to rot slowly esp those irritating 2 ***** that present it.

I had a 2.0 turbo for several years. It was almost fault free but if you do need parts they ain't cheap & a lot of parts cannot be had anywhere but a main dealer.
Fuel consumption isn't good if you drive enthusiastically.
Other than that it was a very good car, loads of room for dogs etc, very comfortable on long journies.
Would I have another one, yes.

Thanks everyone, as I thought, local showroom £889 online £645, that was a Hunter 6 which is about as big as we need I think (34Msq) Good to have some personal recommendations.

Does anyone know much about wood burners? Are the cheepo ones on that auction site a load of poo? We need approx 6kw & the local showrooms are trying to charge us £1500 just for the stove Is that the going rate, I thought the stove would be more like £500?

£650 for the 42" Panasonic S10
Deffinatly the model i would be looking at.
What Hi Fi gives pretty unbiased reviews, worth picking up a copy.
It's taken a while but we have been & looked again, what is the difference between the S10B & the X10B? (apart from £150ish)

Thanks for the replies everyone, Dunganick I am thinking of up to £6/700 ish.

Hi all, i'm after some advice about these new fangled flat screenplasmalcdtv thingies.
Me & Mrs Poppy went into Currys yesterday to buy a new TV but we have no clue what the difference is between plasma, led, lcd, what refresh rate is etc etc. We just want a biggish (up to 42") tv for our new extension. We don't do online games or have sky or anything else, it's just a TV. We do watch freeview quite a bit though. AM I also right in thinking we will need seperate speakers?
We would have talked to one of the "sales advisors" (spotty herberts) but I had already tried asking about deals on a cooker and when I mentioned "internet price match" he snapped at me so I said I would take my cash elsewhere & walked.
Can anyone who knows about TVs point me in the right direction? I suspect any of the big outlets will try to sell me the one with the biggest margin in it!
Thanks,
PTD.

I would send her to school but refuse to allow her to go on ANY religious visits. The sooner we as a species stop telling our kids that other religions are ok but one version of the fairy story is better than the others the sooner our kids will stop growing up thinking they have to dislike/hate/persecute other kids??
