The spring version is better .
Mainly because the newer grt /gasrams
Are found in the mk3 se guns with the naff gammo trigger .which i dont like .
My mate had one in .22 .
It was accurate enough (hobbys superdomes and falcons - no surprise )
But the trigger was creepy and vague.
Stick to a spring and the mk 2 version in my opinion .
Stu do they do this with a walnut stock? On bsa website it shows that action with barrel weight/ silencer in a different style stock?
-
So whats better in the bsa lightning the gas ram or the spring versions

Well I replaced the scope with a spare 6x40 Tasco, cleaned the barrel, but what I’m thinking made the main difference was as pointed out by opp was the fact the muzzle cap was hand tight, so I give it a good nip. Plus I fed it with Superdomes. I’ll put the old scope back on tomorrow and see what happens!
Good results mate. So changing the scope and the pellets, cleaning the barrel and tightening the mussel cap up leaves you not knowing which was the cause haha. So far the groups are a massive improvement... keep shooting it and see how much better you can be. I do like the look of the lightning myself

They are nice. I actually dont shoot what i already own enough yet im still lookinh for a new one. If you saw them youd think they had never been handled and they had only been out for a picture or to hold lol.

Thanks folks. The gun really is lovely, I bought it about 15 yrs ago from the MGR at Woodhall Spa and picked up the fill/silencer about 8 years ago on eBay. It’s a lovely handling gun. id considered selling it in the past but for what they fetch I may as well leave it in the cupboard
How much are they going for these days

Id say how good of a shot are you and how far are you planning to shoot? With the right shot placement from a good shooter whether dependant a 60 yard /meter head shot is achievable with sub 12 and correct pellet once youve done your testing. Dont think that having a fac air rifle makes things any more accurate and easier to shoot as i dont think thats the case.

This was the first pcp i ever wanyed look so nice and id still have obe now if one ever came up for sale ... wink wink.. nudge nudge haha

Question answered lol. However what do you do, just input calculations into a formular or into a balistic app
Hope that made sense lol

How do you test for bc if you dont no what it is then
-
Stu what is the BC of the 5.5mm hades as there not on strelok pro and the owner of strelock cant find out what it is

So all this testing and mathematics, comparing various bc's and consistency and retained ft/lb, obviously taking into account the particularities of potential variations in barrel manufacturing tolerances, what have we learned? Well personally, adding up all the data and giving some considerable thought to the matter, the one conclusion that I ,with my limited intelligence, have deduced, is that, clearly, Arron is married or engaged.
Haha from the picture lol.. deffinatly married.

Think your gun prefers the 4.52
I tried making sense of the original but thought nope, let's have a giggle
Yeah it certainly likes the baracuda match. Not sure if its the head size or the weight it likes. I want to turn the power up a little to speed them up a little but dont want to void warranty

Try again lol... ive edit my post lol

Id have to check. However if the FTs are traveling 30fps faster but lighterin weight. Is there any benerfit over the baracuda match that are slightly slower but heavier

If i was to put a good guess on the bc of the ft s .id put it at 0.022 .
Might actually test them at the weekend and find out if im correct .
Have a check. I need to stretch them out but not in this wind.. would be pointless lol as id be looking for better accuracy than the baracuda match 4.52mm 10.4 grains
-
Ps che chrony weight i input into the fx chrony was 9.5 grain as over 20 pellets on my scales were between 9.4 grain and 9.6 grains

Had a quick fettle just whilst i had 30 mins spare whilst on my own.
Ok only had the back garden 20 meters..
My Brocock bantam sniper Hr is extremly accurate with H&N Baracuda Match 4.52mm.
Today i tried the H&NBaracuda FT 4.51mm... heres the results from 20m

Can anyone tell me the ft lbs please?
Group on the left my hand side is the above 5 shots at 20m Baracuda FT
The group on the right none hand side is the usual baracuda match 4.52mm the bantam likes only at 10.4 grain there slower but seem accurate -

I think .177 is quoted as 40 shots in standard form, and .22 is 50 shots, so you should get at least 50.
Definitely either running very hot or has a valve problem.
And yeah, better to chrono it yourself if possible, RFD might not be too happy about giving it back to you if it's running very hot.
Doesnt matter what power it is there all on licence there mate

Best thing to do is buy a chronograph or take it to the shop at 220 bar fill get them to chrono it and see if they will wright down the figures of each shot then post them on here and we will help work it out 😉

Torally agree again. Its not for me. I gaurantee my Xtx Ultra would match it. Ok not as versatile but it has one job.... to turn the on switch OFF... and its extremly capable of that.😁
-
Totally agree
Way to much money. Od much rather the impact mk2 and tune it

Wouldn't be surprised to find it had several Ballcock parts - same company now. I would suggest they artificially create a demand for it by calling it a limited edition and send Giles and Tony on an all expenses paid romantic jolly to the other side of the world to sing its praises - further if possible.
Be a lover not a hater all the time 😁
I think it will be highly over priced but its a new inavation. As you can choose to shoot any pellet or slug and set the rifle up to suit the pellet or slug electroniclly

There the same action paul, the r10 has a bottle and reg and the ultra has the cylindre. All honesty i have an XtxAir tuned and huma regulated Bsa Ultra se and its deadly accurate to 80 90 m thats all ive pushed her to. The r10s are good but dont expect the shot count bsa state
