  1. I have a 3 month old Escort semi auto black synthetic. Mint condition, full set of chokes and choke key, original box including spare o-rings and stock adjusters. Only had 300 carts through it. It has no problems cycling light clay loads or heavy pigeon loads. Only selling to fund another gun. If i could afford to keep it i would without hesitation. I'll even throw in a brand new fleece lined gunslip and a couple of boxes of pigeon carts. Still has 2 years 9 months on the warranty! Im after £260 face to face or RFD transfer.
  2. Im after some camo netting for hide building. The net i have at present is more net that camo! Thought id see it anyone has a decent sized net lurking in the back of a cupboard before i get myself into more debt and buy a new one! Im in Bournemouth if by pure luck anyone local can help or make any suggestions. Cheers
  3. Got my SGC today. 30 days start to finish. I had my inspection on Monday 23rd and received cert today. What Makes things even better is that I rang them on Friday to ask how long it was going to take, Jim the FEO at Dorset headquarters said he's rush it through for me and I could collect it on Monday today. I called him this morning to confirm only to discover that they finish work at 4 and I couldn’t make that as I finish at 4.15. Jim suggested that he could meet me on his way home from work as he lives near Poole (where I work) so I did and now I have my cert. I am a true believer in credit where credits due so BIG UP DORSET FIREARMS DEPT!!!! (I'm not going as far as congratulation Dorset police as a whole as that’s a step to far!!) Driving to Swindon to get my Escort from Wiltshire Rod and Gun on weds!
  4. Just been down to my new permission this morning with a Logun PCP and even though the place was swarming with pigeons and rooks ive got no chance without a shotgun as they were very aware of me and took off when ever i got close so the air rifle was a no no. Going to set up a hide tomorrow and return next week. Afetr much umming and ahhhring ive decided to go for a 3" Escort magnum at £300 from a dealer not so far away. I know there have been complaints but from reading up there are more people singing their praises and where else can i get a multi choke gun with a 3 year warranty for £300?!
  5. I spent 4 hours knocking on farm doors yesterday to no avail. I kept hearing the same story "someone who works here enjoys pigeon shooting" I got one maybe. I had given up and was friving home when i saw a field with no less than a mixture of 400 pigeons and crows! I went to the farm but there was no one in. ******!!! I went back today and the farmers wife answered the door and pointed me in his direction. I shook his hand and introduced myself. This time i dropped the "hi my name is tom, im a keen vermin shooter and i want to offer you my free services as a pest controller..." I just asked if they were his fields and said that i would love to clear them for him. He said as long as i leave the ducks, deer and hares alone i can shoot whenever i want shotgun and air rifle as long as i ring him first!!! Im picking up my SGC on monday so im going tomorrow with the air rifle to have a look at the boundaries and bag some woodys! So dont give up looking for permission!!! Stick at it and something will turn up!
  6. Would £450 be well spent on a 3 month old remington SPR 310 28" barrels multi choke? My heads spinning from all the guns ive been researching so i'd love some input! Its from the place i shoot clays and they've said if i decide to pack up shooting or want to upgrade in the future they will give me 450 back for it so its basically on loan. Tom
  7. I woudl really like a semi but that will have to wait as im set on an o/u. Does anyone know anything about the remingtom spr-310 range? As ive seen a 3 month old example for 450. Anyone used or shoulderd one?
  8. Im considering buying an Aya Yeoman 12b o/u. Its mulit choke, single trigger 28" barrels. Can anyone give me their opinion on these guns? Ths up for £325 and the shop have said for this price they will fit the gun for me. Thanks in advance.
  9. Just had my FEO round as part of my SGC application. All went well, she said i should recieve it in 2-3 weeks. Im inpressed considering i holy handed my application in 2 weeks ago. I was a bit worried about how long it was going to take after hearing some of the comments on the forum. I think paying by cash so there's no wait in the finance dept for a cheque to clear sped things up. As did a polite phone call on friday "check things were going through alright" she found my application and said she could pop round today. What a brilliant birthday present. Now down to the interesting bit. What shoud i spend my £350 on? My local RFD (lambert and wiltshire) have 2 guns im interested in. A laurona u/o multi choke and an Aya Yeoman u/o. They have said if i buy a gun from them they will fit it to me for free. Does anyone have any advide or opinions on either of these guns or can you suggest any alternatives? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hello all. Just wandering if anyone can help me out. Im after a 12b semi for pigeons, rabbits whith the occasional clay thrown in ofr good measure! Anyone got one going? I was on the look out for a baikal 153 but im open to suggestions. My budget is £250. Tom
  11. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum. I am a keen air gunner and have always wanted to try my hand at clays. I have used the main pigeon watch site in the past for tips on pigeon hunting with my air rifle and happened accross this site. After sifting through all the fantastic information on these fourms i decided to book an introductory clay lesson at Purbeck Shooting School (i live in bournemouth, work in poole) As soon as I fired the first shot from the beretta and nailed the first clay (beginners luck) i was hooked. My SGC application is now being processed and my cabinet was installed yesterday! I cant wait for it to come through so i can get my own gun and not have to pay £35 for a half hour lesson with 25 clays Only slight irritation is that i used to shoot pigeons, corvids and rabbits on some farm land that neighbours my mates house but that land has just changed hands and is being submitted for planning so ive lost my only permission Last weekend i went out and did the whole farm to farm sales patter to get some more permission but to no avail. So if anyone on here is in the dorset area i would happily pay for your carts and buy you a pint if you would be willing to let me accompany you out some time (cheeky but its worth a shot!) Didnt mean to type that much, just really wanted to say cheers for all the knowledge people have shared on these forums which makes getting into shooting easier and keeps the sport alive.
  12. I'll come and take them off your hands. Pm me mate!
