  1. After the sudden passing of Magnum my 2 year old lab we decided to fill the gap in the household the had left behind as soon as possible. Leo is 11 weeks old today and he's a fox red (dark yellow) He's a real character and so different in temperment to Magnum. He barked more the first day we had him than magnum did his whole life! He's a very confident pup and has so far proven to be a very quick learner. He is having his second set of jabs tomorrow we had to delay them because he had a bug when we picked him up and we had to put him on antibiotics. Fingers crossed he'll be my shooting companion for years to come.
  2. SOLD Medium size dog transit box that would comfortably house 2 labradors. Here is the Manufacturers website- http://www.dog-n-field.co.uk/gene/Merlin/ppet.htm 32" wide 27" high 27" deep Slight slope on the front side in good used condition. The box is a few years old and has a few bumps etc. Ally body with wood base, single door, looks like a ifor williams cab. Very very light, one hand lift and easy to maintain. Fits between the arch's in the defenders i think, but use the measurments provided to check. It certainly fits in my Hilux surf with no problem. It is totally silent when you are underway so no rattles that you get using a crate. The fact that it is so light means that anyone can lift it in or out which is brilliant if you dont want it in the car all the time. Most other transit boxes are really heavy. Im only selling as we have decided to get one box that will fit in both of our cars as there is no point in having 2 boxes and one dog! The are £265 new Im after £100 collected from Bournemouth
  3. toyota hilux surf, Gen 2. Fuel consumption around 26mpg. Awsome trucks.
  4. I've already posted on the Norfolk meet up thread but I thought I'd start my own thread. Ive just accepted a new job based down here in Poole but HQ is up in Catfield. Ive got to come up for 2 weeks training starting the 22nd of Nov. I'd love to be able to bring up my shotty and bash some clays while im up. If anyones out pigeon shooting and wouldnt mind me tagging along one weekend there would be a pub lunch on me as a thank you! Also if anyone knows of any spaces on a small syndicate or walked up day over the next month I'd be really keen! Nothing expensive just a small friendly shoot. We just don't get pigeons on the numbers you guys do!

  7. There's a lot in the saying buy the biggest you can. I started off with a 3 gun and now have a 10 gun cabinet. A £50 eBay bargain! For now it will do, just keep an eye on the auction site for a bigger one.
  8. Are chew toys a good or bad idea in terms of a soft mouth?
  9. All the best mate, hope its a speedy recovery.
  10. Due to a family break up a friend has 6 ferret that need new homes asap. 4 are 6 months old and the parents are 2 years old. They are all tame ane well handled. The mum and kits are in one hutch and the dad in another. Free to good homes although a contribution to the reptile rescue center he runs would be appreciated. They are in poole.

  12. Is your dog box still for sale? Messaged you but not had a reply. Tom
  13. Don't know the answer but that part of poole is called Holes Bay.
  14. Don't mean to be rude but you can hardly be doing any serious if road tyres were adequate. Show them wet grass and you spin! If you want a comfortable road car that's more than happy off road, a huge amount of room, all mod cons and doesn't look too agricultural it has to be a hilux surf. Mine is a 1995 gen 3 and its perfect for road use, the dog, motorway driving and throw some at tyres ok and in my eyes its an ideal all rounder. That is unless you want a pure 4x4 for shooting but then you sacrifice road handling.
  15. Dog transit box wanted. Anyone?
  16. I have a mossberg pump action and the stock has seen better days, its also a but too short for me. Does anyone know where I can buy a realtree or camo stock for it? I would like to use it for wildfowling eventually.
  17. We have a lab pup arriving next month and I owe it to my last dog to train this one to a decent working standard as Magnum was always happiest when doing dummy work. He passed away before his first season as he was just begining to mature in terms of steadyness. What are the main differences or rules should i was in training a gundog pup opposed to a regular pet dog? Im fine with the training from 6 months on but how do I stop him becoming hard mouthed and reduce the temptation to sniff and mark everything when heel training begins? Are there any absolute no-no's that would be acceptable for a pet dog? Any help would be really appreciated.
  18. Wish I could find a shoot like this in Dorset
