  1. ive got the realtree , and the hardwoods green theyre ok for forest work, but the best has to be British army camo, theyres more green and is more natural for it, i use the other gizmo flage for forest floor work where its not so easy to see.the best has to be,canadian cadpat, great dissapearing pattern

  2. Thanks Pin. Nice one.

I was actually ******* myself as I read this, cos as you were obviously working hard in Photoshop, I was too trying to figure out how to put a target on the bunnies heeeed. Cant work out how to make a Mildot jpeg tranparent :good:

That's a good looking sandy lop you have there, no need to shoot that one mate

I'm proud to keep rabbits as well as use them for a food source, keeps mine on his toes anyway :good:

im glad to see you got it all back in,

  3. Looking For One of the above with or without a scabbard.

Do you have one sat in the loft or in the garden shed?

    Thanks

theres an army shop, sells the old stuff its in bury lancs i was looking at them on monday funny enough hes got a few with different scabbards, il find the name of the shop tommorrow,im sure they,l do postal, unless its changed/dont quote me on that though,
  4. the trick is to set the sight useing the pod so when you use the gun you know it will work,, on some guns like the 48b that came with a bipod years ago i couldnt hit stink i put it down to balance off the gun the 48 and 52 was front heavy any how .. but with a more ballanced rifle should give better results,,

  5. 22 caliber is great with the hw 45 with a simple good quality red dot sight ,,youl soon be hitting coke cans at 50 yards, theyre that good,, i would reccomend keeping shots on live quarry well below this as the short barrel gives only six foot pounds,, although eight was nt unheard of, just dont use the silencer the barrel points slightly upwards giving the pistol rather good range, but pellets caught on the inside lip and went west, great pistol.. got me thinking now

  6. my pals got the lightning xl//same action different stock,, its 177 and its wicked ,,ive already done this ,somewhere else so il keep it short.. hes shot more pests with it than any other airgun hes had in three months than others in 17 years and hes had them all// weight great ballance great and trigger brilliant ,, an annoying click tough, im surs a bit of grease will cure

  7. 177 is as good as anything if you want 22 stopping power in 177 get heavy weight pellets, simple, up to 20 grain should do the same as a 22 bisley magnum, dont be put off by a smaller pellet ,, if your planing to go F A C i would definately go 22

  8. al depends on how high your mounts are,how low the scope to barrel is, and a number of other factors ,the pellet doesnt just land on the next dot down each five/ten meters..thats just bunkum,, youve got to suss out the parralax first, at every ten yards and check it off with your scope you can bet it will be out, so re calibrate it, then only on a certain magnification will it land on the lower marks // its about getting the marks(dots) to correspond to the pellet drop,so good luck and its all good fun trying.

  9. theyres a co2 rifle by ,is it the smk advert in AGW, basic bolt action rifle a something --78 manchester air guns tunes them for £20 to just under 12 ft lb theyre really accurate too i shot some squirrels last year and it was hard to believe it was a co2, the yanks and some in uk , get propper air cylinders fitted to take air,, at £80 theyre a steal ,ahh QB 78 thats it

  10. yes the lightning xl is a great rifle in 177 my shooting buddy paul uses one and reckons hes shot more bunnies than any other rifle hes had-- i put it down to the light weight good ballance and realy good trigger, and i can second his shooting , because i get lumbered with him!! reccomended pellet is crossman premiers in 7.9/ (die 2) its got to be the cheapest nicest looking out the box tuned custom looking gun you can get,

  11. a cheaper alternative is to get yourself a decent nv monocular, the clearest you can afford either headmount it or devise a gun mount--only on recoilless rifles , as recoiling guns can wheck the scope against your eye brow/ (you have to put your eye right to the exit pupil) then when all thats done simply use a lazer as the aim point,, the scope will pick it up no problem, and its cheaper than a scope you may not be happy with.

  12. good one theyre as accurate as any spring airgun on the market today, and as powerfull, happy shooting, i would get it tuned by your local gunshop though, if your new to airgunning as sticking a spring in it yourself may cause you or your gun a bit of damage, and it pays to be legal. they still sell the same version mk 1 even now,

  13. yes air arms field are a slacker version, than some,my mates bsa lightning flicks them back out of the breech if he has to recock his rifle and has occasionally shot his rifle dry, make sure they,re a good fit, the crossman premiers are a proven slug, but remember to make a note of the size on the box, weight etc.

  14. to be fair young lad came shooting about a year ago he had a 177 bam 20. we ended up tuning it 11 foot poud and our version of laza glide, we bumped into him last week and its performing great,im as surprized as anyone, its a copy of an hw 85 or 95.brand new for the princely sum of £115

  15. i use a silicone cloth/ everybody has warned me not to, but my hw 85 has just been sold in mint condition after -10 years of weekly shooting in all weather, never put your gun away wet, take it out of the gun bag and dry it with a absorbent towel and re lube put the gun bag over a radiator to dry,, pointless sticking it back in, and regardless of what youve heard dont put oil in a modern air guns port hole, it,l do more harm than good!!!

  16. try this... (custom stock)its in sheffield and the phone no is..0114/2472947,happy shooting pal// if the metalworks a bit shabby get it blued here manchester air guns/£40 does a good job too

  17. yes tell uttings what the swivels are for they know the crack, standard swivels work best, the quick release jobs mark the metalwork after a while /and can be noisy, all the best fella,, ps drill the rear stock screw with a 3mm drill bit 100MM fro the but pad,the front one give it an inch from the wood work ,but first put a strip of electrical rape first/ then make sure the tape doesnt dissapear between the stock slot when cocking it other wise move it back a bit, keep it simple! and yes i love the 97 ,mines years old and still amazes me

  18. After using all the new cammo,i decided to go back to military dpm, theres more green which the modern stuff seems to lack ,it doesnt fade as quick either and the prices are great, a full gore tex dpm cammo suit for £39, new,and with the recent weather it definately works / dry and amongst the rabbits,//il save the modern stuff for autumn, where the colours will blend with the woodland floor, for magpies,

  19. This is a funny subject,i decided to go pike fishing on the canal, near where -just through my shoot, it was raining and looked like it was going to pour down, but boredom got the better of me,so instead of donning my usual cammo gear i grabbed my bright red mountain hardware gore tex job, off i went down the railway over the fence and through my shoot,as per, there was the usual suspects hopping and running in all directions, i wandered how close by ghosting my way through the field i could get, now these bunnies are out all day and night, but are a bit twitchy ,as rabbits are,i spotted two about fifty odd yards away munching with their backs to me, one stood on its hind quarters and sniffed the air the other carried on they were about 30 yards from the hedge row, so i waited for the head to go down and took a few steps ,each time the heads lifted i stopped, they soon resumed munching the grass then another couple, then again, i was all of no more than ten yards from the pair of them when a third rabbit , one i hadnt seen hopped into the hedge, just to check these rabbits were ok i gave them a good round of applause , one took off on all fours the other tried to flatten itself into the field before leaving at an amazing rate of knots
