Sgc Grant Date sweepstake, bit of fun
Strawbridge replied to Strawbridge's topic in General Shooting Matters
@WalkedUp not yet, expecting this coming week, it was the department manager that did my interview in the end due to the staffing issues, real nice guy, he said that it should be around a week to come through ๐ค -

@mossy835 donโt get me wrong they have been really good with me, especially with my enquires as to how much longer Iโd be waiting ๐, itโs just been a difficult time, Iโm not unhappy with how my grant has been handled at all -

@dorsecore I think yours should be quicker, A&S have apparently had a staffing issue over the last few months which has been increasing the delay, hopefully yours will be through sooner rather than later ๐ -

Well I was 3 months out ๐, just waiting on the post now ๐ -
Wow, I put my application in at the beginning of August and haven't heard diddly squat so far, I know my GP has sent the report back but other than that no contact at all, no reference contact or anything ๐ 6 months and counting
-
Not yet unfortunatly, the A&S website has been updated from not taking new grants to significant delays though, so I'm assuming they've started to process them again, fingers crossed ๐ I'll let you know when I finally hear something, hopefully it's not too much longer for both of us

You are 100% right, I can be patient, it is frustrating, mainly because I've been spending a load of money on lessons so I can get out shooting at clays at least, but there is so much pain going on in the world, this waiting is really insignificant compared to what gamekeepers and shoot managers are going through right now, thanks for the perspective check @MWildfowler I'll look forward to next season, I might actually be able to hit more then as well

Nice, mines been in for 14 weeks and I've not heard a peep, go Essex, A&S need to pull their finger out

Thanks @yeet thatโs unfortunate news, at least I can still go to lessons and practice with my farther, just a shame I wonโt be able to get out under my own steam for a while, but as they say patience is a virtue ๐ -
Thanks everyone, plenty of questions to come I'm sure ๐

HI All, I'm a new shot, based in Somerset, I've had a few lessons and practice sessions with my Dad, so far I'm loving the world of clay shooting and looking forward to my SGC coming through so I can try out some game shooting as well, though it looks likely that it won't come through for this season. Can't wait to get involved with some conversations on here and learn from other's experiences

Hi everyone, so I applied for my SGC on the 17th of August, I live in the Avon and Somerset area and last year the average wait was 118 days I think, I know the Doctor had the medical history request at the end of August, so that should have been returned by now, I though it would be a bit of fun to guess when the certificate would come through, when it arrives Iโll update this thread and work out the closest guess. Iโll go first Iโm thinking a pessimistic 20/02/21, would love to hear any guesses ๐
