  1. Well, Those are some mouth watering recipes. I certainly will give some of them a go. Thank you much "AXE."
  2. I suppose you Britts only eat Mutton and Pigeon. Too bad as Pheasants are pretty good fare. Then again, with the outbreak of Hoof & mouth I suppose Pheasants may soon become more palatable.
  3. Gentlemen, and gentleladies, a number of years ago in a little general store here in Bucks County, Pennsylvania I purchased a few cans (imported from Scottland) of Pheasant Soup. It was quite good, being creamy and a bit "tangy." Foolishly I threw the empty cans away and did not record the ingredients so I could attempt to duplicate the recipe. My question to you folks is does anyone have a good recipe for Pheasant soup or simply a good recipe for preparing Pheasant. I shoot a good number of Pheasants here in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and North dakota and frankly it gets a bit dull just baking, frying and the like.
  4. From my stand point I'd label it "Over Kill." Didn't seem to be much sport in it, just a whole lot of killing. The fool had better hope he never has a misfire.
  5. Peaslee it t'is mate! A Fox, "Patch" and some Peaslee Quail. The Peaslee Requiem for an old bird hunter. I always drop a few empty shells for the old guy (whoever he may be).
  6. Yo...I think we Yanks look rather dapper in our orange canvas tuxedos! Bright and cheery like. Even the dog looks good in his orange bowtie, don't ya think?
  7. I'm very much surprized as silencers are a Federal offense and command jail time here in the States.
  8. Yo...(That's a Philadelphia coloquial term, much like "I say"...), with all the restrictive gun laws I've read about in Britain, I'm much surprized that the Gov would allow "Silencers." Just how many decibles does it reduce? Sorry for my ignorance lads, but I was under the impression that rifles were very much restricted in Britain. Actually I'm happy to see that you folks retain some very valuabble firearms rights. Also, I have seen advertised a soft rubber sleve that slides on the rifle barrel to reduce the harmonics, thus improving accuracy. Have you used them and if so do they contribute to improved accuracy?
  9. "Monkey Nuts", pardon this Yank's ignorance but what is that object on the muzzle end of that .22 rifle? I've never seen anything like that. What's it do?
  10. Hello gentlemen. I also discoverd this site on another hunting forum. http://www.uplandjournal.com/cgi-bin/ikonb...3/ikonboard.cgi I hail from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I hunt Pheasants, Grouse and Bob White Quail. I hunt New Jersey, of course Pennsylvania, and will be returning to North Dakota again this season for several days of Pheasant, Sharptail Grouse, and Hungarian Partridge. I used to do a lot more deer hunting in the PA mountains, but I much prefer bird hunting. I like to shoot. I shoot primarily 20 gauge guns, and of course my 16 gauge Fox Sterlingworth. I also shoot a little Skeet and Trap. I try to get out twice a week to do that. Keeps one in shape and on target for the real thing. I don't know how much posting I'll be doing, but I'll sure be listening. There's always something to learn.
