Had this myself in a past gun.. Most obvious one is a firing pin will have a tiny burr underneath almost like a barbed fishing hook so it doesn't retract when fired. Sticking into the cartridge primer. Do You have to break the gun over your knee to open it? If so it's likely to be that. Take off the barrels and look. If you can see the pin has a burr use a small needle file or Dremel to smooth off. Takes 10 mins. Hope this helps either you or whoever collects. Also try used cartridges with primers removed and just pull the trigger. See if it sticks. ππππ

Have you got some piccys please -
I can't believe I'm 15 years late on this thread. This gotta be a new record. I've clay shot since about 2014 used over unders and the side-by-sides also semi-auto. My friend have bought a Winchester sxp black shadow it has a full choke He is new to the game so a full choke will possibly leave him disappointed of the end of a shoot. A second-hand choke is needed. Brand new teague is only Β£49 if I can't find him a SH one. Some people say ΒΌ some at Β½ some cylinder. I know a shooter who wins every month and he uses β But he's very good not a novis. Would ΒΌ or cylinder be best choice for him. He will also be hunting crow with it on occasion. Oh it's on my license till his app comes through so it's with me and I'm the one who noticed the full choke.

That's fine but I didn't give any reason as to why I wasn't into hunts I just said it wasn't for me. The fact that I said shooting was humane didn't mean a hunt wasn't. I was very careful not to say that. That's why I bit back because I can have an opinion without being criticised for it. No harm done. You said your bit and I said mine. ππ

Wow. What do you know what I have or have not seen? Have an opinion but don't speak through your a**e to people on here. Just because it doesn't match yours doesn't give you the right to call me out. All you are is a typical name caller.. ( bully ) did I call you for your opinion? No....grow up and keep the topic in an adult manner or leave the thread. This is for shooters not kids in a playground

I'm not a fan of fox hunts. I shoot them in lambing season. I'm not against the actual hunts. But I prefer to kill a fox humanely.

Yep we do have some quirky laws that don't always make sense. I'm guessing most shooters won't admit to anyone in here if they shoot a game bird with an incorrect calibre or load or rule of thumb s1 or s2 weapon. I bet more than 90% of shooters have done. But keep that to yourselves. Funnily enough I've just seen a bolt action 12g Mossberg on FAC S1 and the ad even says GEESE BEWARE ππ Link below if you wish to have a Gander! π€£ https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/mossberg/bolt-action/12-gauge/300-series-220513122041002

Yeh sorry got my calibres mixed up. Got my info from BASC firearms who actually worked for Cheshire police up to last year in the firearms department. That's how I know s1 shotty is legal to use on Canada goose

From 1 January 2024 Magpies were removed previously from GL004 for conservation purposes Are they really in danger of extinction? Has anyone applied for the special license by Natural resource Wales to shoot them?
-
Sorry for the delay. You can shoot all game with a section 1 shotgun that you would also use a section 2 on. Mainly avian. It comes down to what type of projectile is appropriate for each quarry not the quantity the weapon contains. I would use a section 1 rifle (308 5.56 for example) for deer but not a section 1 shotgun. Basically a sec 1 or 2 shotgun can be used for the same thing when hunting. Logical thinking would confirm that a 2 or 10 shot shotgun with the same ammo has no difference apart from cartridge quantity. Therefore has exactly the same effect no matter which is used. Yeh at BASC she said it's GL 41 or 42 I think it's 42 last I looked. Like other GLs no need to apply just follow the rules.
