  1. Sunday 8th - Barley stubble. Geared up to hit the field for lunchtime but i didn't get set up til around 2 with the field black and blue with crows and pigeons. Once set up i had already 24 on the clicker before the oldman joined me at about quarter to 3. We had roughly 150 cartridges with us as that's all we had left and shot until we ran out - Around 5ish. dropped 87 birds and picked 83. - Sunday 15th - (Same field). Was out on the **** last night so i wasn't going anywhere to early this morning!, Packed the landrover up and went straight to KFC before any pigeon shooting was happening - Got to the field around 12 with a few hundred crows and not a pigeon in sight. I always carry half a dozen black socks with me to put over my full bodied pigeon decoys - So i set up with 6 decoys slightly to my left and a few pigeon shells out to my right just in case. Action was pretty slow but built up a lot as the afternoon went on. End count was 136 dropped, 127 picked. (91 pigeons, 21 Jackdaws and 15 crows)
  2. Just picked up another 1000 today and used both fibre and plastic - Cracking cartridge on the pigeons!
  3. Cheers lads! - I did indeed, She's done a little bit of clay shooting in the past.. and said she didn't want to shoot just wanted to watch and learn! - I bought my old 20bore with me just in case and roughly a box and a half of shells.. she soon used all them up!
  4. After being pestered all weekend by a pal to take her out pigeon shooting as she was putting in for her shotgun license - We got to the farm and set up for about 11 o'clock this morning. A small picture showing the field and set up - We started off with only 10 dead birds out of the freezer and two on the magnet. Pretty much constant shooting right the way up until we had to pack up smack on half 4. I would of stayed and shot right up to mid evening, **** law really!! Total bag was 93 downed but picked 86.. Very enjoyable day and another young lady hooked on the sport!
  5. Sounds good to me, I'm sure we can sort something out!
  6. I'm in Eastbourne bud, Got a lot of marsh land to shoot over if you fancy an evenings flight this season!
  7. We picked Benji up from the cocker rescue when he was 18months old and drove all the way up to Coventry for him. We were told the previous owner neglected him and he was left in a flat and was ever so skinny. Hes getting on a bit now at the age of about 8 - Still tears **** around like a puppy.
  8. Haha, raining widgeon! - Don't think you guys shot the school marsh did you? You'll both have to come down this season when its all fed up, some great sport on there to be had!
  9. Knew i recognized that green jimny in a previous post!, I was saying to my pal who turned up yesterday afternoon... I hadn't heard one whine out of benji all weekend so peaceful! Not long until the duck season now!!
  10. Checked one of my farms in the week to see a steady stream of birds feeding between 3 wheat fields that join onto one another. The game plan was to leave mine and set up for around half 8ish due to all three fields surrounded by houses and not wanting to upset anybody too early on a Saturday! (20/07/2013) After bagging one of the 3 fields and set up the hide, magnet, decoys and a bobber i had the first bird in the bag by 8:45. I was set up bang on one of the main flight lines through this field but nothing was taking an interest what so ever, a steady stream of birds for 2 hours all flying towards the field i had bagged. I had shot 6 birds by the time i thought **** this packed up and drover round to the bagged field to see what the crack was! Opened the gate expecting it to be blue with pigeons but not a single bird!, drove back up to the farm to check a few pea fields and not a single bird anywhere to be seen. I then drove back to the field i was originally set up in twiddling my fingers on what to do!, The time now was roughly half 11 and thinking what a complete waste of a morning. I lightened all the kit down and set back up around 50yards down from where i had first set up placed the magnet straight in front of me in a tram line around 35yards and a bobber to the left of me around 25yards. The place just turned on like a tap with pigeons left right and center! I had ran out of cartridges by 1:30 with 52 in the bag for exactly 75shots. Back to the motor to pick the rest of the slab up. Final count was 116 downed and 99 picked. (21/07/2013) I needed to pop back over to the farm to pick up all the poles and bags i left in the field from the day before, saw maybe 50odd pigeons feeding on the edge of one of the wheat fields again didn't really have much else to do so i thought id set up for a couple hours to pick a few more off - Didn't use the magnet this time just 4 bobbers using the magnet arms. Set up around half 3ish and had 32 in the bag before a pal joined me at 5:30 i left him shoot the last 2 hours we spent there. - Final count was 42 downed and 35 picked. Incredible weekend and a very chuffed farmer!
  11. Pair of young dog foxes both taken with the .243.Using PRVI 90g SP. (11-07-13) Taken at around 140ish yards. (14-07-13) Taken at around 50 yards.
  12. Back out on the rape today. Very slow but atleast it wasn't as hot as its been! Couldn't find the other 8 pigeons in the rape - But i did run the dog back and forth countless amounts of times!
  13. Over rape, checked the same farm this afternoon and exactly where i shot last friday there were around 150+ birds where i had my set up. Hoping the weathers slightly cooler tomorrow!
  14. Friday 14th June. Total bag - 87 and a Jay. (Found the other 6 not pictured afterwards). Back out tomorrow, will take my brothers GOpro video camera so there might be a bit of sport for everybody to watch tomorrow evening!
  15. Testing new HD video camcorder! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U2eXdp2vMI The old man actually shot the pigeon about 60 yards away from me, Could anyone test the quality in HD and see if its anygood... with not having a decent computer its still kind of blocky!
  16. Hey fella, I'm in the market for one. Email ************* and il get them uploaded for you too?
  17. Currently in a hedge somewhere!, while out shooting on saturday coming back from one of the fields we noticed a "Squeek" coming from inside the dash of the landrover.. and didn't think anything of it!, found out sunday morning some ******** had got into the landrover while we were shooting and snapped the bit off where the indicators are and both the wipers. ******* *****.
  18. Thanks for the comments guys, jfgpm - I never bring the shot crows in, i find that the bigger the pattern the better the shooting is for crows. I always tidy the pattern up after every 5-10 birds, but other days you can shoot and leave them where they fall. What i also do is bend the wings forward and then place on the deck as it makes the bird look a lot bigger.
  19. This took place on i think the first weekend, or maybe the second into October So i cannot really remember the ins and outs!, We started around half two when we met Foggy11(Nick) at the first gate - Wheat stubble with some over grown patches through the middle, We lined across maybe 40 - 50 yards apart and walked the field up. When we got to the first patch of rough around 5-6 pigeons lifted out as i managed to drop one a cock bird lifted from my right no more than 5yards away from me that Nick dropped. I then downed another cock bird in the same rough. Moving onto the next field, three grass fields spilt with dykes and very overgrown brambles. Entering the gate a fox is spotted around 50 yards in a patch of brambles so we go straight for this. A lot of moving about and the dog going mad the fox slips out the back closely followed by Nick and its down. Not really sure how the other two birds came down but i remember that we managed to lose another two pheasants due to how thick the brambles are. Now it was flight time, i managed to bag a teal apon arriving out of a group of around 10. Dad and Nick decided to shoot the flight line of ducks that mostly consisted of mallard apart from one that i dropped on the pond. I also managed the one widgeon out of a pair that came through. Thanks for reading! (Looks asif someone got a little heavy handed with the pigeon )
  20. To be fair, when i first started that morning you would of thought i'd never shot a shotgun before. Alot of the other clips i have from that day had shooting in them but you couldn't see any birds, Also a bird landing in the pattern while i was having a pee!
