I am seriously very interested in starting falconry. I have done quite a bit of reading up on it but am wondering roughly how much it would cost to get started. Aviary, bird, all the bits etc. Also, im quite good at building things and would probably build an aviary myself. Can someone give me a rough guide to the essentials i need to start and what i should look at paying for each. Thanks.
I have a interest in starting falconry to , however after reading a book or two and seeing how much time you have to dedicate to your bird i realised i could not have given a bird enough care and attention they require at the present time .
I would go on a good falconry course , one that asks you to dedicate a full day each week to learning the basics of the sport and make your decision from there , maybe offer to help out a falconer occasionally and see if the sport is really for you.
Good luck

Bought earlier this year and not used much so cant warrant it taking up space
Its in .22 flavour and also pre anti-tamper
Its in very very good condition the bluing is A1 and the stock has one small mark near the pistol grip which you really have to look to see .
It has recently had a full strip down and service.
Its putting out 11.6ftilbs over the chrono and will give you about 55 full power shots.
It will come with a bsa gun bag , fx stirrup pump , charging adaptor and nikki mountmater 4x32 scope .
Looking for £320 for this lovely little rifle .
£3oo for the rifle and £20 pounds for the courier service to anywhere in the UK
-
It varies from 50p to up to 7 pounds across the country

I've got a surplus of rabbits ( gutted but in jackets ) any one know of a game dealer who would take them off me in Lincolnshire area
-
I always carry antiseptic wipes , hand gel and plasters !
Then again i am guaranteed to cut myself at least once on any trip
-
You tried looking at the army surplus sites? Am sure I've seen smocks on them.
Looked through loads mate , but not german army smocks in plain green
Also the cut of german military clothing is in my opinion far superior to british stuff in my opinion
-
Bit of a problem , i have a jacket i absolutley love , its a german army para smock but i find its a bit in your face and would love one just plain green ( tried dying them didnt work ! )and they are not avalible in any other pattern or colour .
So any ideas ? could a taylor or seamstress run me one up do you think ?
Any body had anything like this done ?

Does any one on the forum run this cross or use it for ferreting ?
I have space in my kennel now my old dog has passed on and want a good , intelligent , lurcher that will be a good ferreter and lamper .
I havent ran a lurcher since the ban and my old preferance for a salukixgrey is probably a bit too much for just the humble coney

Just looking at it now i kind of wish i'd ordered the 12 x 10
Where the hell am i gonna fit the bed and the 3 piece

Tools.....No......first thing to do is get a comfy chair, a gas hob and a kettle, followed by T pot T bags and mug. Followed by Ashtray and Cuban cigars, Litre bottle of famous grouse and bottle of Stones ginger wine.
Then like me.... Gloster Canaries.
Sit back enjoy life watch and listen to the birds singing and wait for the decree absolute to come through...
Heaven...
