  1. Saturday morning, wahey Choices, a) sit about doing naff all, go on the laptop, check PW for the 10th time and get into a war or grab a rifle and go for a walk The pigeons on the farms I have, although there are a reasonable amount around, are pretty un touchable. They are so dam spooky, that I have shelved the idea of decoying for a bit. ( well until I weaken ) So today, I thought I'd just have a mooch, look and learn. Well perhaps I'll just take the HMR and pump off at some paper........but if there's the chance of a pigeon perhaps the FAC Air So I chucked both in the truck I had a nice 2 hour wander round a couple of hundred acres. Lots of small groups of pigeon on the stubble fields here and there, but as I got within 200yds, they lifted and were gone way over yonder. This happened field after field. :( I saw a bit of a flightline from some trees to a field of rape stubble. The piddys were flying from the trees to a patch in the middle. I thought I might have some luck under the trees with the FAC Air. So made my way quietly through the woods to the tree they were using. On the way through I heard that familiar "chucking" and spotted a squizzer Picked off this fella at around 50 yds Waiting for the pigeons turned out to be a waste of time, so headed back to the truck. As a bit of last minute enthusiasm, I popped a target out at 100yards and had a lash with the HMR. I'd bought some more remingtons and wanted to check this batch was ok. Quite happy with the group I know its not a report of a red later day, but it was good to get out, 1 up for the red squirrels and kept me away from mundane jobs at home
