I've said in other posts about rats in a building that has bales and cow feed pellets, and found traps not very successful with so much food on floor. I've had a couple of goes with air rifle and NV / thermal spotter shooting through a side door, where they scamper back and forth. Viewing through spotter intermittently hoping to see a target, then switching on scope to take the shot. I had 5 last night but need a better set up. So, if I wanted a constant view of the small area offered, I was thinking of rigging up some sort of NV / thermal camera with a viewing screen so the area could be constantly monitored ( about 12 to 20 yds ). Don't need to actually record footage, just view. Apart from something like a small Sony cam corder which has NV option, is there an option to view a screen in real time ? Any suggestions ?

Talking to a farmer, he asked if I had any suggestions to monitor in real time a field of sheep. I looked at spypoint trail cams but they only give about 30 ish yards range. So does anyone know of a CCTV type set up running off batteries that would cover a field and relay to a smartphone ? Reason behind this is last year he lost 9 sheep to dog attacks and wants some sort of warning or evidence if a recurrence happens. I have assured him that if such a setup exists someone from PW will know.

Does anyone with a Jimny use a front facing rear seating child car seat ? Mine is on a 56 plate. My first grandchild is now 1 year old and I am now "trusted" to take her in the car 😀. Been looking at a Britax Eclipse Black Thunder. Any suggestions much appreciated.

My washing machine is giving a problem during the last 20 minutes of a cycle during the rinse and spin, making a slight banging noise. First i thought it was a spring broke and the drum had too much movement, but on closer observations it seems to be like the description below. When the solenoid opens to let water in, at the start of a fill or rinse, by putting my fingers on the cold copper in-feed pipe off the mains i can feel and hear full normal water flow. So there is no blockage in the filter on the inlet at the back of the machine. The problem seems to occur at the same part of the cycle, when the rinse water is being emptied and the drum is turning but not on full spin. When it happens if i put my fingers on the cold copper in-feed pipe i can feel and hear like water pulses and the banging noise. Could it be that the solenoid is coming on and off in short bursts when it shouldn't be ? If so, what is causing it to do this ? The machine is a Hotpoint Aquarius WMF 740. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi all ... I hope you all had a good Christmas !! I have reworked the stock on my gun to great effect so now I'm turning my attention to the barrel It's a standard length barrel ( varmint ) but the very end is looking like it's corroded ? So should I just get it re crowned or would you recommend getting it shortened .. It's mainly used as a foxing rifle with some long range rabbit shooting ! I have seen various vids on DIY recrowning with suprisingly good effect or should I just leave the crown ?
