  1. The other day myself and my youngest were out and sighted what I first thought was an escaped domestic breed of rabbit (larger, longer ears and a coat the colour of a chocolate Lab). Got only ten to twelve yards away before it stood up as my suspicions to exactly what it was were even at that stage a little raised when it stood up and did that "legs too long for me" typical lollopy walk of a hare! A hare? surely not? But it was, perfect in all things head shape the works, all bar it was wearing the wrong pigmentation I saw no paler belly but I did see what appeared to be a pretty normal colour scut . Now I have seen white crows and a few black things (mainly Mallard, pheasant and rabbits in the latter case) and all variety of fallow deer but never have I seen a truly "brown" Brown Hare. Has anyone else seen one? How about any other non std colour variants of our wildlife?
