Although the weather hasn't played ball this year, including our toothy fish competition, when it did it was awesome! Pollock to just under double figures, my wife out fishing the rest of the boat (we stopped counting after the 20th codling came aboard), hopeful signs of a Cod comeback, and more herring than you can shake a stick at.
Not my vessel 😁
Texas rigged jellyworm, one of about 8, all but one that was deep hooked returned
Micro codling revival. Were in pest proportions at times.
Silver darlings from the kayak.
On the kayak I've also had decent pollock to around 5-6lb, lots of codling, coalfish, pout and of all things a grey Gurnard, which for the NE coast is pretty rare.
Hopefully the easterly winds will stop and the lunkers will move inshore, Tight lines everyone!
