  1. Following another thread on this forum about Foxing rifles I was wondering if most people have an "old favourite" shotgun that they reach for time after time? I currently have at least 10 shotguns to choose from including a B525 and a Miroku, 101 etc yet my gun of choice is a 1914 Pollard Sidelock - of all the others this one just feels "right" - it was bought for next to nothing and I had the barrels reblacked locally and Demonwolf444 on this forum stripped and oiled the woodwork, she now looks like a new gun but the quality and pedigree are what I find most appealing.
  2. Was just curious as to what other peoples shots to kills ratio is. So lets say your average shots to kills whilst decoying pigeons...... and lets all be honest chaps I was out on Saturday and took 4 boxes or carts with me and had to pack up at 2 o'clock when I ran out :( For my 100 shots I picked 72 birds so 72% kill rate working out at 18 kills for every box of carts so 18/25 I know you could argue varibles like 2 shots at one bird but 2 birds with one shots works in your favour so lets just go with the average.

    Comfort food

After getting back to the house about 1/2 an hr ago soaked to the skin and freezing i blitzed up some tomatoes with a sprinkle of chilli flakes, and added a generous dollop of cream at the end. Lovely creamy tomato soup with a slice of bread and butter while looking out the window at the gale that is going on outside, can there be anything better? So what is your comfort food?
