tomba26
Hello folks, Just this weekend I had a go at using Trade Secret Rapid Oil on my gunstock. I can't really see that much of a difference yet, do you really need to keep adding to it with small amounts time after time? The finish is pretty good when you tilt the stock against the light but seems a little hazy when you look straight at it, I suppose it just needs more work. Also I noticed when I did it that there is a small section on the stock just above where my thumb sits where the grain is lifted a little, what is the best way to get rid of this, fine sandpaper and then re-apply some rapid oil? Would that work ok? Thanks.

PaulABF
Tomba I've never used the oil you have but I do use Tru oil. My method was to apply just a few drops at a time and massage into the wood until tacky. I would then dry for 24 horurs before reapplying. After 8 or so coats the stocks are like glass. Patience is the key mate - not forgetting good preparation and lots of sanding until baby smooth.
