Accredited Shotgun Coach

I have been thinking about my future career and decided I want to teach others to shoot.

Now, the first hurdle I have to cross is training to be a coach.

Where do I start? I have had a look on the basc website but cant seem to find anything.

Can anyone help to point me in the right direction?

Regards

Sam :good:

Definitly worth a phone call. I need some more shotgun experience before I can do this though. CPSA and Lincolnshire Sports Partnership both ask for 2 years experience. I havnt had 1 yet! Patience is a virtue. Thanks for finding those for me apache, you are a very helpful chap :good:

Bit expensive, perhaps, but you cold go on course that teach you how to shoot and pick out the best bits from each instructor and adapt them for your own use. Also you can pick up and reject the downside. What's that? Does he explain logically, does he mumble, is he late finishing with his previous client so that you lose 10 minutes?

I did this with the demonstrators at our Art Society and I can now say, modestly of corse, that I am better than most of them.

Hope this helps.

I too am starting to look into this, and I have received some information from BASC about their accreditation process. The first part involves the seeking out of a BASC specified 'mentor' to take you on as a trainee trainer. There are only a couple of dozen dotted around the country. They then tell you when you're ready to got to BASC assessments (which are obviously another expense). Once you've been assessed a few times at BASC events, then you receive your qualification.

Having looked into both the BASC and CPSA routes, I'll probably be going with the CPSA to start with, but if you're interested in more information from BASC, send them an email and they'll send you out an information pack.

Time to start saving those pennies.
