Red Stag

Was heading home from the local village around 5.15pm on Saturday past and was about 1/2 mile out of the village when my son spotted "a strange horse". I looked over across the field to see a magnificent red stag prancing around a field. I stopped the car and tried to take photos with phone.

We reversed back down to the farm entrance and drove up the lane to get a closer look. Even the cattle in the next field were amazed they took quite an interest in him.

Now some of you reading this will think nothing of this but there are no deer in this area. The closest would be 11 mile away and that is a deer farm. The next closest would be around 13 - 15 mile away, and deer are not normally seen in this area.

Anyhow the memory of seeing this stag strutting around will live with me and my son (he was well impressed). Ihope to get the pics uploaded (need daughters laptop)

Just thought it a bit strange and was wondering why this guy was so far off his normal route.
