wacker
Right, it's probably been done before but, when cleaning rabbits they say to remove the anal glands or the meat will be tainted. My question is this; Where are they? Silly question, but i just lay it on it's back and break the pelvis with a knife and remove whats left of the back passage. Billy.
When you chop the tail off, these should come with it. They are the two small lumps on either side of the anus. (Don't mix up these with the testicles, which are about 10 times bigger and higher up) I've not heard of it tainting the meat. You might be getting mixed up with splitting the guts and getting the muck all over the skin.
Billy.
Oh and when you think you've removed and cleaned everything, push your finger, from the inside, out of the anus. This will completely clear any remaining droppings that are inside.
libs
I was told they don't taint the meat as such, but you know all about it if you were to bite into them once the meat is cooked so its better to lost them before!
