riggers
hi all can any one tell me whats best bullet weight for a .243 with a 1 10" barrell twist many thanks paul
Rem223
Depends on what you plan on shooting really. Fox and varmints a 70gr Nosler BT or 58gr Vmax. Deer you want 95/100gr. A 1:10 twist will shoot all the available bullet weights in .243. I doubt you will find any bullets over 105gr in a .
Ninj
Bear in mind it's not the actual weight but the bullet length which has more of an effect. The two are in most cases linked of course but something to watch out for. Another thought is that the type of bullet (be it soft point, ballistic tip etc) will also behave differently and will require a different twist rate to stabilise them. A good source of info
topguns
fox/deere 100gr boat tail spiter Hodson H450 powder @ 44.5 grains 200cci primer this go`s very well in my 243 BDL remmington over the past 15 years, shot hundreds, will group thimb nail size 100yards all in a fag box @ 200yards, I would not show my bum at it. Just trying 58 grain bullets this year for the first time, so far, Hornaby bullet 58gr` powder varget @ 41 grains 200 cci primmers this was very good also very good at 40.5 grains but not yet shot a fox with this load, for me I have to know that it is going were I want it first before a kill, but so far all grouped @ 100 yards with in half a inch, so need to make some more and try @ 200 yards, if all bullets are with in the palm of my hand that willl do for me. hope this will help my statement are true and targets to proof . do not exseed what the book says its not good for you or the gun. Have fun but be very carefull.
