M ROBSON
Well things are in full swing with us up here, the harvest is well under way and we're getting some good bags of pigeons in. We also took delivery of 750 pheasant poults two days ago and on the first night lost some to a fox. So I headed out tonight to see if I could do something about it. I spotted this vixen in the field next to our pen and squeaked it in from 300 yards to about 50, it's amazing the damage a .22 hornet can do, definately a round that shouldn't be underestimated. Cheers, Mark.
The Big Red Fox
Well done Mark Looks like you hit the shoulder and shattered the bone, looks like you go out alone then with the lamp on the scope, mines fitted to the roof of my 4x4, too frightened to be out in the dark all alone :( Was out myself tonight and saw 3 foxes but couldn't get near any of them for a shot, fields are not harvested here yet (about 2-3 weeks away) so they can get away from you easy. M ROBSON
I went out with my dad using the big lamp on his pickup, I use the lamp on the gun once we've spotted one if they are a bit shy, also good for a bit of hand to hand combat! :( Luckily this was the only fox we saw, hope It's the one that killed the poults. Frank
Great photo Mark :( . What ammo was you using in the Hornet? You are absulately right, never underestimate the Hornet, fantastic round up to 200yds max B) .
dunganick
nice job, hornet is a fine round under 200, and expansion like that is impressive for a hornet. keep up the good work
M ROBSON
Frank, Just using Winchester 46 grain factory ammo, nothing super duper. It helps when they run at you like an express train though! :( Mark.

M ROBSON
Frank, It was facing me at a slight angle, the bullet went in the front of it's chest and hit the sholder, as Adam said it shattered and caused all the damage.
