jsync
Hi, I bought a Browning B525 in August this year and have just managed to get out to put 100 carts through it. When cleaning it yesterday I noticed that there was something stuck between the barrels inside the vented rib. I had assumed it was a bit of twig but on closer inspection it was metal (seems to be some kind of weld, it had a slight copper tint to it in places) which has now disappeared inside the solid part of the rib near the breech end. For size reference it is just smaller than one of the solid parts of the rib that joins the barrels in the vented section. Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to take a picture before it disappeared into the solid section and it won’t slide out again. I am guessing that this is not normal and it will be covered under warranty, but is it safe as I have a driven day tomorrow. Thanks,
MC
It is a piece of loose solder and nothing at all to worry about. I had a Winchester Select that had a piece loose in the same place. You could hear it rattle if you tipped the barrels up and down. The rib was solid on my gun so you couldn't get at it. If you see it again just try and hook it out with a piece of wire. plinker
i got a new 525 from the sportsmans about 3 years ago , the first time i cleaned it i noticed a foriegn piece of metal that looked like an off cut of rib, wedged into the vented rib, took it back to the shop and they pushed it out with a punch,no harm done to the blueing.does that sound similar to your problem? jsync
Hi guys, Yes that sounds like my problem. I have been in touch with Doveridge who are 99% certain that is the problem. So I'm off on my first driven shoot tomorrow and will be using it. Hopefully a few carts will make it accessible and I can wrestle it out. Thanks for the help!
