dieseldogg
I was looking at ( & through) my Hakko 10-40*56 today Trying to decide what range of magnification I would be best with for shooting at say 150m/175m Before I purchase another ( for me expensive )scope Anyway as I am short sighted I have worn spectacles this past 30 years, except that now when I use the scope I prefer to take them off and use the dioptre correction on the eyebell. But surely this is in conflict with the side focus? What is the correct procedure? Focus on infinity or sommat? I seem to recall PS Should I then get a monacle for my left eye
Ali-C
Use the eyebell adjustment to get the crosshairs is focus as normal. The side focus is to adjust the parallex for shooting at different distances, as you adjust it the image will snap into focus at different ranges. Get a large add on side wheel if you don't have one and mark off ranges on that as you adjust, you can then use it for range finding. I would personally zero on max magnification, then drop it down to your chosen hunting mag and just check it to see if the zero has changed, if it has then something is wrong with the scope.
