Dumb question ?

Hi all, we've been trying to locate some land to shoot on locally. So far all we can find is a farm with a pigeon problem.

We're really after rabbits but if we can help with the pigeons it's a foot in the door. Question is, are a couple of .22 PCPs going to make much impact on them or is it a shotgun job (which we don't have). If they will do the job, what's the best way to get results ?

Any opinions please ?

Not dumb at all mate, there are far more educated people that me on here, but I've had very good success with my pcp on pigeons around the barns and farm buildings, but no much with pigeons in fields, shoot one and they tend to leg it (or wing it!).

I'm sure if you asked if you came across the odd bunny whether you can shoot it or not wouldn't be dismissed.

Good luck

Rod, as KYSKA said, theres no such thing as a dumb question. Also, I've had loads of pigeons with my old FX2000 around farms and roosters/sittys in tree's .If you get a good hide set up and decoys theres no reason why you wont get a decent bag with a couple of air rifles, there a lot quieter then a shotgun ... as for the rabbits, your new permission might know someone who knows someone,,, well you get the idea.

Have fun mate..

Well done on your new permission by the way.. :good:

Thanks guys, so a couple of PCPs will make a worthwhile contribution to his pigeon problem then.

We do have a hide already, it's a modified fishing shelter that we've used for photography. IE, one shelter with door, 2 slits with mesh hanging over and job done. Animals don't seem to care what it is as long as it's not human
