Gully
I'm looking at these binoculars as I used a pair of 10x42's recently. I prefer the 8x ones but notice they do them in 2 sizes, 8x42 and 8x56. The 8x56s are a couple of cm longer and 150g heavier. Any opinions on the pro's and cons of each type? I'm tempted by the 8x56's but I've never seen them mentioned on any forums. Cheers & Merry Xmas
fullbore
I have the 8x56 ones and I love them, my mate who usually has better gear than me has the 8x42 because thats all they came in at the time. We have tested them against each other the range finding is exactly the same in each pair and very accurate, the 52's give a tad better light gathering in the gloaming you won't be dissappointed. Caused quite a stir when I took them to Africa
alexm
I have the 10x42's, chose them as they were more compact. I found the 56's rather more bulky and I couldn't really see much difference through them although they technically have better light gathering. Gully
Cheers. I've found a Leica dealer just down the road from me, they're sending him both today so I'll have a good look tomorrow.
