Nial
There are usually some pretty blinkered views on here and this one is turning into a cracker There are several things that are linked, but need discussed separately. 1) Should we be reducing our consumption of fossil fuels, they are a finite resource? Most sensible people would say yes. 2) Should investment be put into research into _viable_ renewable alternatives. Again, most would say yes, although we have to be realistic, wind power still needs 90% reserve back up with conventional power. 3) Should we be trying to stop the de-forestation that's happening world wide. Again, few would argue against this. 4) Is mans activities really affecting the climate to unprecedented levels which is going to result in melt down unless something is done about it? (Note that few of the 'green' taxes raised to date have actually been invested in trying to reduce the problem and big companies are able to make a lot of money trading carbon credits. BTW Al Gore is supposed to have made his first billion in 'carbon'.). Definitely not. Nial
